SAN ANTONIO — Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has deployed a contingent of National Guard troops to San Antonio, where the governor's press secretary said the soldiers "are on standby in areas where mass demonstrations are planned in case they are needed."
It's unknown exactly how many were sent to the Alamo City.
"Peaceful protests are part of the fabric of our nation, but Texas will not tolerate the lawlessness we have seen in Los Angeles," said Press Secretary Andrew Mahaleris in a statement. "Anyone engaging in acts of violence or damaging property will be swiftly held accountable to the full extent of the law.”

My relative is in a position to know what he is talking about as he has worked with disabled Vets, the VA, courts, etc., for the last 17 years.
I never knew this until the other day, and I thought about these particular circumstances where the NG is going against the most vicious and stupid cretins who think they’re movie heroes.
I don’t know if this is enough to make any Governor ask President Trump to call up the NG instead of the Gov’s office but I think it’s worth considering for the troop’s sake.

His point is, if called by Prez they are better protected against injuries and disabilities if it occurs in the line of duty.

What’s DeSantis doing about Florida? Has anyone seen anything coming from the Governor’s Office? I haven’t seen anything anywhere. It’s like everyone’s on vacation. But rallies are being scheduled statewide by “No Kings”, an anti-ICE organization, for Saturday, June 14. The one for Tampa is downtown at the City Hall, at 3pm.
