US to cut military aid to Ukraine, Hegseth says
The Kyiv Independent ^ | June 10, 2025 | Abbey Fenbert

The United States will reduce funding allocated for military assistance to Ukraine in its upcoming defense budget, U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said in a congressional hearing on June 10.

"It is a reduction in this budget," Hegseth told lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives.

"This administration takes a very different view of that conflict. We believe that a negotiated peaceful settlement is in the best interest of both parties and our nation's interests, especially with all the competing interests around the globe."

The Pentagon has not yet released the full documentation regarding its 2026 budget. According to Hegseth, the pending budget "provides a historic level of funding for military readiness, putting (U.S.) warfighters and their needs first."

Hegseth did not disclose details as to the extent of the funding cuts to Ukraine.

The Pentagon's announcement follows weeks of intense Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, including record-breaking drone strikes against Kyiv. Amid the escalating aerial assaults, President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged the U.S. to support Ukraine with critical air defense systems.

Ukraine has offered to buy these systems outright rather than requesting military aid.

Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, the U.S. has provided Kyiv with over $66 billion in defense support. But U.S. President Donald Trump halted the approval of new military aid packages to Kyiv when he began his second term in January.

Graham must be just a little upset. But generally, the Republicans are saying...the EU should take care of this.

Linda will be fine, he’ll self medicate with Amyl Nitrite, some White Claws, and a couple apple-tinis.

He must be upset since he's now being forced to pay for his most recent trip and hotel stay in Kiev. He'll have to find another war to support and make money on.

It is time to bring our soldiers and equipment home from the European theater. Turn the loose on the insurrection activity inside our very own borders. While here, may each become fathers and mothers of several children.

Exit nato and let Putin manage Europe, England, and France.

After all, European, English, and French leaders did want a new world order, right?

The FY 2026 budget.

They had to mention it.

The One Holy Catholic and Apostolic Bill comes first.

But the first quarter of FY 2026 starts in less than four months.

Johnson needs to explain to his peeps that there’s no such thing as an August recess this summer.

“Ukraine has offered to buy these systems outright rather than requesting military aid.”

With what? The US is currently funding their entire government.

They already reneged on their promise to pay us back from the seized Russian assets, but we should take them at their word. Defensive weapons only and paid upfront in gold or dollars.

"Hegseth did not disclose details as to the extent of the funding cuts to Ukraine."

Hopefully it will be reduced to zero. America's defense and readiness first!!

“ Exit nato and let Putin manage Europe, England, and France.”

That would be a catastrophically bad idea.

With our money. Ukraine doesn't produce sufficient revenue to operate on its own.

Continuing to affiliate militarily with tyrannical European regimes would be a catastrophically bad idea.

The globalists in the EU and NATO are the enemy of American and Western citizens.

They need to cut it totally. Geesh, what is it going to take?

End it by cutting all funding and propping up of the corrupt government.

End it POTUS!

Revisiting items:

1) Russia cannot take over Ukraine. It would mean assuming their crushing debt.

2) Russia would want Europe . . . why? They have nothing Russia could want. Russia has no desire for Muslim refugees that set all the cars on fire every few years. And Europe has no oil or gas to speak of. And it’s not like Russia’s population has filled the territory they already have.

3) And note the Europe countries have their own array of debt. Russia has no reason to take on that debt.

4) Russia has shown no fear of US strategic forces, and likely for good reason. 80% of US warheads are on submarines (to keep them safe rather than mid country). The US has 14 “boomers”. 1/3 is in port at any one time and requires about a month to do an emergency deployment. Another third are at sea performing the mission (1/3 of 14 is 5ish). The remaining third are nearing port or in port and could do an emergency deploy in a week, as soon as re-provisioned. So if Russia were to do a zero warning attack, we can probably hit back with only 1/3 of 80% of our warheads. Which is plenty, depending on what plenty means.

5) The submarines location matters because, yes, the range of the SLBMs are long, but that means more time for anti missile systems to work. SLBMs best fired as near an enemy coast as possible, to shorten the defense time available.

And so, of course Trump isn’t going to start throwing nukes over Ukraine. Our configuration is inferior to theirs (they have only 60% of nukes on boomers, the rest on mobile ICBMs and bombers). And Putin knows it.
