SUPREME COURT GIVES DOGE ACCESS TO SOCIAL SECURITY DATA
Supreme Court ^ | 6/6/25 | Justices

Posted on 06/06/2025 1:34:34 PM PDT by CFW

On January 20, 2025, the President signed an executive order “establish[ing] the Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) with the goal of “modernizing Federal technology and software to maximize governmental efficiency and productivity.” Exec. Order No. 14158, 90 Fed. Reg. 8441. The executive order requires agency heads to establish “DOGE Team[s]” within their agencies and to “ensure [DOGE] has full and prompt access to all unclassified agency records, software systems, and IT systems” in a manner “consistent with applicable law.” Id., §§3(c), 4(b), 5(b).

On April 17, the District Court preliminarily enjoined the Social Security Administration (SSA) from granting DOGE affiliates access to various SSA records, subject to certain exceptions. The en banc Fourth Circuit denied the Government’s request to stay the preliminary injunction by a vote of nine to six. The Government now seeks a stay from this Court.

[snip]

The application for stay presented to THE CHIEF JUSTICE and by him referred to the Court is granted. The April 17, 2025, preliminary injunction entered by the United States District Court for the District of Maryland, case No. 1:25– cv–596, is stayed pending the disposition of the appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit and disposition of a petition for a writ of certiorari, if such a writ is timely sought. Should certiorari be denied, this stay shall terminate automatically. In the event certiorari is granted, the stay shall terminate upon the sending down of the judgment of this Court.

JUSTICE KAGAN would deny the application.

JUSTICE JACKSON, with whom JUSTICE SOTOMAYOR joins, dissenting from the grant of application for stay.

The whole Elon vs Trump event may well help Elon’s work with Trump, to help Elon stay looking good.

This could save real money. SSI is the ultimate Democrat slush fund to keep indigent freeloaders on the dole in return for votes. It’s the biggest “industry” in our County.

Maybe DOGE can find out why my wife’s Social Security was suddenly canceled this week. We’ve been on hold with the SS office for most of the day.

The letter gave no reason. It said “We can no longer send SS payments for you “.

Call your local representative’s office. You may get faster help that way. Most offices, Rep or Dem, have a person dedicated to assisting in matters such as that.

I’ve been trying to get through to my local post office all week. It’s useless. The automated system just sends me in circles.

I’ve heard of scams like that. The scammer says your SS number has been suspended. Please provide your bank info. Then we’ll issue you a new SS number, and route your payments to that bank.

Scammers rarely use letters. Phone calls and emails are much more common. But you never know.

“Call your local representative’s office.”

That’s a good idea. When we’ve had issues with Federal organizations, we called our Rep’s local office.

Once, Passports never showed up when they were supposed to, and a cruise was in a few days. The staff in our Rep’s office did something, and they showed up the next day in overnight mail.

So the deepstate has had enough time to get it all sanitized and deleted, so now they get the green light?

A WIN for the EXECUTIVE branch to which Agency control and oversight belongs.

This was one of the cases on the Emergency Docket.

Here is the background of the case:

For now, the stay is a win. That means until further order from the court, DOGE employees can access the info it needs to cross-reference info and find the fraud in government data-bases. I don’t think the Chief would have granted the stay if the majority of the Court didn’t think the Trump admin would ultimately prevail.

I call that a win.

Well everyone else already has it, why not DOGE.

The IRS leaked mine over a decade ago, followed by Experian who were brought in to watch for security fraud because of the IRS's mishandling of my SSN.

You are kidding yourself if you don't think the ChiComs, Russians, etc don't already have yours.
