Gingrich on Trump-Musk Feud: ‘This Is the Soap Opera Phase of American Politics’
Breitbart ^ | 06/06/2025 | Jeff Poor

Posted on 06/06/2025 12:11:07 PM PDT by ChicagoConservative27

Thursday on Fox News Channel’s “Jesse Watters Primetime,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich reacted to the ongoing dust-up between Donald Trump and Elon Musk.

He called it the “soap opera phase of American politics,” suggesting there were more important issues facing the globe than Musk’s “temper tantrum.”

“I’m beginning to think that they are mad at each other,” he said. “I don’t want to get into much. Look, this is the soap opera phase of American politics. Everybody can understand it. Everybody can pay attention to it. But in the long run, what’s happening with China, what’s happening with Russia, what’s happening with the big, beautiful bill, those are vastly more important than whether or not Elon Musk is having a temper tantrum.”

Gingrich continued, “And remember, Musk is the wealthiest guy in the world, but Donald Trump is the most powerful person in the world and I think probably that Musk kind of forgot that. Musk’s power comes from Musk money, comes from having met consumers, having been brilliant. Trump has the vote of 77 million Americans to say he ought to be the commander-in-chief, and in that kind of a contest, there’s no question in my mind that two, three, four, five months from now, Donald Trump will still be President, and Musk may or may not be relevant, and that partly depends on whether Musk decides to grow up and find a better way of doing this.”

Musk helped Trump a lot though…I do believe that.

And Kamala still got way too many votes for comfort…

I just don’t think GOP is in any position to be secure about a mandate. Trump needed every last vote, every swing, every independent. And Musk lent him a lot of credibility and enthusiasm especially among younger voters…

That is a fact lost by a whole lot of people.

The young voter.

It needs to stop. I actually think Trump is the one taking Musk (even when Musk acts a fool) for granted.

And despite being rich, Musk has risked and put a lot on the line to secure a lot of dormant or independent voters to the MAGA side.

Musk also saved some semblance of free speech by buying Twitter. MAGA owes a lot to him…

Wasn’t Michelle and Barack a soap plot?
And Pelosi undermining Biden behind the scenes?

Agree.

Musk and RFK Jr. played their part in getting some alleged Dem moderates to go to Trump. Like Bigfoot, I actually doubt there are any but it’s worth mentioning in the political analysis.

Yesterday i posted that there is somebody watching this with great interest and will offer Musk a deal.

Well, this morning the Russians stirred the pot. Releasing statements pointed at Musk. Saying that if he gets sick of it, he has a place within Russia and they will build him facilities to carry out his work even funding him.

Somebody has to put a end to this.
Imagine if that would happen. And it could.

Unfortuantely today with social media, all the dirty laundry gets aired out, whereas in the past it was all covered up.

I fully trust that Musk would go to Russia and eventually see the moral devastation of Putin’s rule for what it is — happens to many a venturer who had idealized it prior…

If Elon were really concerned with deficits, he should not be perturbed by Trump removing special Tesla subsidies.

If he feels that his car company needs them to succeed, he could easily grant them from his own wealth rather than the taxpayers hard worked earnings. Or just lower the prices.

My take on this is that it is all contrived between the two of them. This will keep the weirdos off of Musk and he can start selling teslas again.
