After Ukraine launched a huge drone strike on Russian airbases last weekend, Putin vowed retaliation.
In a phone call with President Trump, Vladmir Putin was reportedly insistent that Russia must respond to Ukraine’s attack, which damaged over 40 aircraft.
Now, we have reports that that retaliation may be underway.
Russia has launched a massive overnight drone and ballistic missile strike on Ukraine, targeting Kiev and several other major cities.
Alleged footage of the strike is going viral online:

The Kyiv Independent said:
Russia barraged Ukraine with missiles and drones throughout the night, threatening every region in the country. The attacks marked the second night in a row Russia launched a mass aerial assault on Kyiv and other cities..
Across Ukraine, attacks continued throughout the night and into the morning as Russia fired relentless waves of drones and missiles. Explosions were in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Sumy, Konotop, Chernihiv, and Kharkiv.
Fires have been reported in buildings across Kyivs, like this residential complex:

CNN reported:
Russia launched drones and ballistic missiles at multiple targets across Ukraine, Kyiv authorities said on Friday, with officials reporting residential areas of the capital had been hit and at least three people wounded.
Fires caused by falling debris and drone strikes were reported in buildings across Kyiv, as Ukraine attempted to repel the Russian attack, the Head of Kyiv City Military Administration Tymur Tkachenko said. A CNN producer in the Kyiv region reported hearing at least two explosions.
Tkachenko accused Russia of hitting residential areas with the drone attack, saying a high-rise building the the Solomyansky district of Kyiv was damaged.
Ukraine is hit by nightly barrages of Russian drones and missiles. It was unclear whether the nighttime assault was the retaliatory strike promised by President Vladimir Putin following Ukraine’s daring raids on airfields deep inside Russia.
Kyiv’s Mayor Vitali Klitschko also reported fires in the districts of Holosiivskyi and Darnytskyi of the Ukrainian capital and said that three people had been wounded.
Ukrainian air defense units have been activated in the Obolon area of Kyiv, Klitschko said on Telegram early Friday morning local time.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
The other shoe dropping?
And Ukraine will launch more strikes.
Out of NATO and out of the UN.
Two simple steps that would significantly strengthen our country.
Something has happened & another event is expected.
Only three people wounded in Kiev?
...that sounds measured...
...vaguely like restraint.
who would have guessed
War is hell.
That’s why it is a thing to be avoided. - Captain Kirk
I wonder when they will bring out the small, tactical nukes.
Asking for a friend...
hey “Z”....What happened to your happy face?
Sounds good.
Without that happening we could be on the mandatory WWIII list due to our signed agreements to assist any of the current zealots in any of the countries. Most of which are now anti-American woke Socialist s-holes filled with Muslims. With our agreement to defend them to the death. Not at all worth it.
“... at least three people wounded”
reports elsewhere say four people were killed
I am trying to figure out the “massive” part. Massive bombing of a city would kill a lot more people than than that, even if unintentionally. The media’s breathless drama queen reporting is a massive joke. The lights are on and the trains running with four people dead from violence overnight. Kinda like most nights in Chicago.
I can understand Ukraine targeting aircraft that can drop glide bombs or cruise missiles. I don’t think it will move the front lines, but it is a military target and it could prevent infrastructure attacks or civilian attacks.
What is the military Target, that Vlad the Invader, needs to destroy in Kiev? How do attacks on the civilians there help his war effort? Do attacks on Kiev change the front lines, result in breakthroughs? This action suggests desperation on the part of Russia because if they had military targets and weapons to attack them, they would have.
The Ukes attacked the same Russian strategic nuclear air base last night that they did three days ago. The Russians have been forced to relocate that entire wing of strategic bombers to avoid having American sighted drones destroy them. Imagine Russian sighted Cuban drones destroying B2 bombers at Whiteman AB in Missouri! Night after night!
The Ukes obviously have many more truckloads of drones already in Russia set to destroy the two other legs of the Russian strategic nuclear deterrent. You don’t get it, do you?
I’m surprised they didn’t over two years ago...........
Ukraine makes devastating, successful attack on military targets; Russia retaliates by bombing densely populated urban centers, manages to hit (fortunately mostly emptied) apartment buildings and offices. 90% failure rate; 3 dead, but hundreds made homeless.
If anything, this raid made Russia look like impotent war criminals.
90% failure rate? Only 3 dead despite targeting high-population density, civilian urban centers? More like a sock dropping.
I guess Ukraine could drop leaflets in Moscow warning residence to evacuate prior to... yeah kinda measured! So Putin has escalated!
The word is “sited” not “sighted”.
RE: More like a sock dropping.
If Jerry Nadler wore the sock then the drop might be quite nauseating and uncomfortable to face.
You’re right, though, that kill rate sounds like a weekend headline: “Chicago party argument results in gunfire. 150 rounds fired and five people injured and in the hospital. Expected to recover.”
These attacks highlight a major difference between the Russian and Ukrainian governments.
Ukraine attacked military targets, Russia attacked civilian areas.
Putin claims that Ukrainians are actually just Russians who have been mislead, he then murders them.
