President Donald Trump said Wednesday he discussed the recent drone attacks by Ukraine on Russia and developments concerning Iran in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Kremlin foreign policy aide Yuri Ushakov confirmed the two spoke.

During the conversation, Putin told Trump that Russia will have to respond to the Ukrainian drone attacks, the U.S. president said.

"It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace," he said in a Truth Social Post.

"I stated to President Putin that Iran cannot have a nuclear weapon and, on this, I believe that we were in agreement."

"I just finished speaking, by telephone, with President Vladimir Putin, of Russia," read Trump's post on Truth Social. "The call lasted approximately one hour and 15 minutes. We discussed the attack on Russia’s docked airplanes, by Ukraine, and also various other attacks that have been taking place by both sides.

"It was a good conversation, but not a conversation that will lead to immediate Peace. President Putin did say, and very strongly, that he will have to respond to the recent attack on the airfields.

The idea that Putin will respond with some sort of retaliatory attack is ludicrous. Putin has thrown what he can against Ukraine. He don’t have a reserve. He does have to slack off while he builds up for the next attack so his bombardments always come after a lull or some attack by Ukraine.

What’s he going to do kill some civilians? Bomb the same hospitals he’s bombed? Maybe he’ll go for an electric plant.

Russia is going to nail Ukraines drone factories and the long range missiles. It’s going to be a massive hit.

IMHO,

Negotiating a peace all at once won’t work. Bridge to far.

Just like this war incrementally escalated to where it is today, we need to focus on small “achievable” steps in deescalation of this conflict.

As we do this, it will open more opportunities for further deescalation and hopefully we can arrive at some point where 5,000 men a week aren’t being killed or maimed.

Sure Putin is gathering data on who did this. If it comes from within Germany or where ever, don’t you think Putin will possible attack that facility. WWIII I believe is here. Remember Ukraine does not have the intelligence or high tech to do something like this.

The Russians are maintaining a “slow-creep” and keeping the pressure on. They do not want Ukraine to build up a reserve which can be used in a major counter offensive as in 2023. Also, this gives Russia the advantage at the negotiating table.

This will sound crazy for some. I think Russia has achieved pretty much all they want (even though we talk about their defeat with certainty). They have taken MOST of the ethnic Russian areas they were interested in (military objectives), and blocked Ukraine's NATO accession (political objectives).

I think Russia could actually move faster if they wanted to. They just aren't even interested at this point. Never was it Russia's intent to conquer all of Ukraine or keep rolling into Europe. That was something our MSM and politicians made up, what one would call: propaganda.

Russia invading NATO space isn't even feasible, not even today with Russia partially mobilized.

Taking areas in Ukraine where the population is nationalist would be a long term nightmare and resource drain for Russia. They know this too.

Bottom line: I don't think the Russians are pushing as hard as they could.

It’s good to see that Trump likely was not in on the attack. It’s bad, however, if he was kept unaware.

Seems like Vlad wants a harsh response to send a message, and Trump is just washing his hands of it. Fools.

That’s very bad for Ukraine, Zel-stinky, the deep state gloabloids and ass-brained Zeepers who drooled and thought attacking strategic imfrastructure was a good thing... for anyone.

They will likely be disabused of their stupidity in short order. Enjoy your happy dances while you can.

The idea that Putin will respond with some sort of retaliatory attack is ludicrous. Putin has thrown what he can against Ukraine.

Only delusional imbecile would believe that, one whose mentality is a grave national security threat to this country.

If that were true, why are the Russians gaining ground daily in Sumy and rapidly advancing toward Sumy City?

As a kind of temporary fencing, wire strung from insulators on stakes around a grazing area is often used to contain cattle or other livestock, by sending a high-voltage shock through the wire, on the order of 12,000 to 18,000 volts. This is similar to the jolt felt when touching the spark plug wire on an internal combustion engine. The electrical jolt is not continuous, but is sent out at intervals of a couple seconds apart.

When we were kids, I was with Arkie, when he, in a show of bravado, chose to let fly a stream of urination at the charged wire. It was not good judgment. The jolt traveled back down the stream, and he was left writhing on the ground.

The Ukrainians have done something similar.

To what advantage for the USA?
