51) It removes silencers from the NFA requirements for registration, approval by the BATF, and $200 transfer tax. Suppressors would be sold the same way as pistols, rifles, and shotguns. This is a great first step toward reasonable restoration of the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.
It’s a “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN’ bill....
Removing silencers from the NFA is a step in the right direction, I’d like to see a lot more, but all take a small victory over nothing at all.
That would be a very welcome thing. People who are self-employed / sole proprietors and don't do quarterly estimated tax payments would be especially pleased to not get hit by the equivalent of a freight train at the end of the year.
It’s what we voted for. Someone please tell Congress. As far as debt...it’s gonna take a while to cut back...
Pass this bill. Follow with further rescission bills to incorporate DOGE cuts and downsize departments.
Number 6 is dishonest. It gave a sparrow fart sized tax deduction to Social Security income. They will still tax the SS for the vast majority of retirees.
Doesn't have to.
The “One Big Beautiful Bill” is an authorization bill, not an appropriation bill. It establishes, continues, or modifies federal programs, policies, and agencies, but it doesn’t specifically allocate funds for them. The White House (.gov) notes that it doesn’t fund government departments or agencies, and it doesn’t finance programs.
Now pass the bill. Follow up with rescissions.
“Illegal immigrants will now pay taxes on remittances sent to foreign countries.”
I hadn’t heard this. I’ve been calling for that for years. No mention of the rate, though.
Does anyone know?

Fills the reserve...
#34 is very interesting.
But I don’t see elimination of taxes on SS.
can't be done in a reconciliation bill. We'll see if Congress pursues that later.
Did that make it through the Senate markup? If so, it’s a step in the right direction.
There is alot of good in the bill. The spending is for dealing with the illegals and for boosting the military. I voted for that. I do not care what Elon thinks. LOL
Yeah, sure. They’ll get on it next week! They will point to the miniscule deduction on SS income and say they have already “fixed it”.
The last thing they will ever do is something that benefits seniors.
We have a 2 trillion golden dome pork trough to fund. Wars with Russia, welfare for colleges, weapons for Taiwan, you name it .
“I don’t see elimination of taxes on SS.”
Must be done in a different type of act/vote.
I kinda think that is some kind of poison pill. There is no way the Senate is going to pass a bill that lets every gang banger and mass shooter start running around with silencers.
> Number 6 is dishonest. <
It also has me confused. Some websites say it’s a tax credit. Others say it’s a tax deduction (which is not nearly good).
The other day a FReeper remarked here that the confusion is due to the Senate and the House having different versions of the bill.
Unknown. To me, anyway. Contact your Senator. I plan to contact both of mine.
