Newark Mayor Ras Baraka sues Alina Habba over trespassing arrest at ICE facility

Newark Mayor Ras Baraka filed a lawsuit against the US Attorney for New Jersey on Tuesday over his arrest last month while protesting outside an ICE detention facility in his city.

Baraka accused interim head attorney Alina Habba, who is also a personal lawyer of President Trump, of “malicious prosecution” and violating his Fourth Amendment rights following the May 9 arrest.

“Defandant Habba issued the defamatory statement and authorized the false arrest of Mayor Baraka despite clear evidence that Mayor Baraka had not committed the petty offense of ‘defiant trespass,’” the lawsuit stated.

I have stayed in Newark. It seemed okay, but was not impressed with their public transportation into New York.

It really is such an “also ran” city.

I did run into mafia-type people at a restaurant near Newark. They thought I was a Fed / FBI guy sent to get intel. It was bizarre, and I did not feel safe with the continued questions they wanted me to answer.

I would just encourage just about everyone to stay away from New Jersey—except violent illegals.

Regarded as perhaps the most progressive man in America, the son of a left wing communist who converted to Islam and divorced his left wing Jewish wife to marry a black woman who also converted to Islam ?

Just a casual observation - these posts for years would have instantly been filled with guys saying the thread was useless without pictures, and people posting pictures of whatever pretty girl was featured in it.

Now nothing. I am not sure that is something which would just end here.

It makes me wonder if the real posters here are getting siloed in separate cells to split them up into smaller, quarantined groups, and chatbots, who do not know the history of this place are filling in the empty space to keep us isolated.
