Russian forces have continued to advance in the northern Ukrainian region of Sumy, bringing the regional capital within range of their drones and artillery, according to Ukrainian officials and analysts.
A spokesman for the Ukrainian military in the area, Ivan Shevtsov, said that in addition to trying to advance towards Sumy city, Russian forces were constantly shelling the area and more evacuations of civilians were taking place.
“At the moment, the territory that the enemy has already occupied is about 15 kilometers along the front line and about 6-7 kilometers deep,” Shevtsov said. He added that the Russians were trying to advance towards the town of Yunakivka, within a few kilometers of their current positions.
For its part, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed Tuesday that its forces had captured the village of Andriivka as they broadened the front, according to the official TASS news agency.

The most recent census, as well as those from the Soviet era, show that this is not true. Why are you continuing to push this falsehood?
This was the Russia opinion from the beginning. This war was never merely about NATO expansion or a few disputed provinces. It was about the existence of Ukraine as an independent country. Russian nationalists have never accepted this fact. All the other reasons give for the war are just excuses to hide the real objective: the complete subjugation of Ukraine.
In many cases it gets me into trouble. 😋

If Russia is so great, why are you not there?
The west was going to destroy Putin and Russia but that too has failed. Their hate was spewed against Russians and now the Russians are prepared to destroy the NAZI Western Regime in Ukraine. The west was never going to allow Russia to end the war, but somewhere along the way Russia defeated the Woke Fuc*er’s in NATO and US general staff’s as a result here from the Obama idealogical purges. That woke college officer corps got beat by guys who have to wash their clothes by hand because they need washing maching chips to fight the war, and they use shovels because they don’t have ammunition. We have gone full circle. The Hate unleashed against the Russians is an effective motivator for the Russian people who are done with the West, after they finish the NATO humiliations.
And how was an independent Ukraine going to destroy Russia? Put aside your Russian nationalist paranoia.
The west was never going to allow Russia to end the war.
The war would end the moment Russia left Ukraine. No one is interested in invading Russia.
The Russians identify the target, e.g., the NAZIs and freeze them in plain sight.
When the Russian soldiers reach Kiev and Western Ukraine, they will not have any doubts that they are up against the heirs to the NAZI idealogy, and the Russian soldiers will recognize them.
Here in the west we want to deny the unpleasant nasty associations with what the Russians recognize as NAZI.
We westerners have slung the NAZI label around to the point that it is meaningless.
The DNC had their Punch A NAZI If You See One thing going on during Trump’s first term. Today, in the US the term NAZI has become no different from the term CRACKER or YUTES.
The DNC is on many matters itself rather akin with its Marxist idealogy to the Left of the Marxist idealogy on the Right of Marxist which was where the NAZIs existed. Our DNC and Deep State has dragged the US into a war with Russia. We burned birdges with our Hate of Russians, and now you guys push back in revulsion against what quacks and walks like a Duck being called a Duck.
