Jewish Democrats have been anti-Israel for a long time. No surprise there.
We used to call socialists that hate Jews “Nazis.”
Today we call them “Democrats.” :)
Can't say I totally understand it ether, but one thing keeps coming back to me.
Back in the 60s I was in high school and learning history. History was my favorite subject. I found a book, The Rise and Fall of the 3rd Reich and it discussed the Holocaust. A friend and I were talking about it one day and his father overheard us. He joined the conversation. He was a rough, though as hell steel worker. But during WWII he was a GI and he was part of a group that liberated one of the NAZI concentration camps.
He told us flat out what he saw and this tough as nails guy had tears in his eyes when he told us. He said if anyone ever tells us it didn't happen, tell them they are liars or tell them to come see him and he'd “straighten them out”. And brother, he would have.
The best explanation I have heard was around their Eastern European roots, Most Jews in the US originated in Russia or places in Eastern Europe that at the time they headed to America, we’re under the Russian Czar.
Jews were treated horribly there and every time a Russian Czar felt little pressure from the peasants, he would organize a “program” so the locals had something else to focus on. The would kill some Jews or steel the possessions of others and the Czar would survive.
But when the Czar was overthrown and the Bolshivics took over the Jews in the US celebrated and figured the Commie left was better than the Monarchy. They were wrong, but that philosophy has permeated the Jewish community for a hundred years. Now it seems to be changing.

It’s hard to fathom. But easy to see.
1. Before WWII, pogram after pogram in Europe.
2. In the 1930’s and 40’s, European elites started taking care of their ‘Jewish Problem’ with the Holocaust, with many German and not-Germans participating.
3. After WWII, they continued to rid themselves of those “troublesome Jews” by creating Israel and sending many of their remaining Jews to Israel.
4. Now, the European elites support groups (Hamas, Hezbollah, Iran and Shia Islam in general) that have made their central purpose to kill all the Jews that made it to Israel and argue that Israel is evil to defend itself against attempted genocide.
5. And now, American elites cannot bring themselves to condemn the movement of the violent, global intifada against Jews to our shores.
If you were writing a horror story, you could hardly make this up. But there it is.
