I spoke with journalists and shared some details of today’s negotiations with the Russians in Istanbul: an unconditional ceasefire, the exchange of prisoners, the return of children, and, importantly, the return, not exchange, of civilians.
Then comes a leaders-level meeting. As for a meeting of the leaders, the Russians believe that this can be worked on by the end of this month or early next month.
As for the ceasefire, they basically don’t see it happening yet. According to the Russians, they’re ready for a 2–3 day ceasefire just to collect their dead from the battlefield. I think — idiots, because the whole point of a ceasefire is to stop people from becoming dead in the first place. So, you see the mindset. For them, it’s just a short pause in the war.
And he keeps going…..
Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський
@ZelenskyyUa
In response to journalists’ questions, I emphasised that yesterday, Ukraine carried out a brilliant operation, planned and executed independently by our side. Ukraine is making it clear: we are not going to surrender, and we will not accept any ultimatums. But we do not want war. We do not want to show our strength, we are forced to, because the enemy refuses to stop.
Russia just needs to pull out its stops to show what they are really capable of.
I am a fan of neutron bombs, because they cause far less damage to physical things, instead, killing a lot more people, however.
One nuke popped in the world changes everything. That country will be charged with world genocide.
One word: RUMP
Two day cease fire?
Polish PM Tusk sounds the alarm:
“500 million Europeans
begging 300 million Americans
to protect them from 140 million Russians
— it makes no sense.”
Well, here’s the math:
Berlin: 12 min
Paris: 15 min
London: 17 min
That’s Oreshnik time.
The losing side always wants a ceasefire. The winning side never does. It’s that simple.
Russia would only be idiots by agreeing to any cease-fire.
It was not especially successful in the first place and in the second place in the context of the global national security environment it is about the stupidest thing that anyone could have done. There are multiple threads on FR explaining exactly why it was utterly insane. And when you say "us" do you mean Ukraine or are you extending the credit to the US because it is credit that no sane person wants.
LOL...he can’t help it. Trump warned him.
Yeah. That’s how you negotiate. Call them idiots. Smooth.
Zelensky nor the EU want peace. It's time for Trump to walk away and let the EU go to war against Russia if it wants to.
Yep. Ukraine is on the verge of military collapse and is desperate for a long ceasefire so it can rest, rearm and reposition its army to keep fighting... until the next ceasefire. And an awful lot of American politicians seem equally desperate to keep Ukraine alive, perhaps because they've had their hands in the Kiev cookie jar since 2014. Not to mention their complicity in all those bio-weapons labs that Tulsi, RFKjr and Tucker have been talking about. The reckoning looms and the panic is rising...
When was that post in comparison to when Ukraine tried to shoot down Putin’s helo? Did Putin react to the helo thing with these new attacks? I saw a video of Trump talking to reporters and after one mentioned the Ukraine attempt to shoot down Putin’s helos Trump said maybe that is the reason for Putin’s change.
Zelensky always pulls of a big attack right before negotiations because he knows it puts Russia in a bad place to retaliate. If Russia does retaliate, Zelensky cries foul and screams that Russia doesn’t want peace.
The cycle continues.
He just can’t STFU! 🙄
Well, I said well before the last election, that if I were a Democrat, I’d want my party to lose the next presidential election. Too many nasty chickens would be coming home to roost, both on the Ukraine front and the economic. While the Democrats put it all in motion, better to have a Republican left holding bag when it all hits the fan.
