Oregon is once again at the forefront of expanding assisted suicide—and this time, the consequences won’t stop at its borders.
SB 1003—is moving through the Oregon legislature that would dangerously expand the state’s so-called Death with Dignity Act. If passed, because of Oregon’s removal of its residency requirement in 2022, this law would affect vulnerable patients nationwide and further normalize suicide as a “solution” to potential suffering.
What’s in the Bill:
SB 1003 expands assisted suicide in three alarming ways:
Broadens the Definition of Who Can Prescribe Lethal Drugs ○ Replaces “attending physician” and “consulting physician” with “prescribing provider” and “consulting provider.” ○ While recent amendments attempt to make the terms nearly interchangeable, it opens the door to loosen safeguards undetected down the road.
Mandates Promotion of Assisted Suicide by Healthcare Facilities ○ Hospices, hospitals, and other facilities would be required to disclose in writing the availability of assisted suicide before a patient is admitted. ○ Facilities must also post these policies publicly — in their offices and online. ○ This will make it far easier for patients — especially those who are vulnerable — to be steered toward death, rather than care.
Shortens the Existing 15-Day Waiting Period ○ Reduces the waiting period to just 7 days — and in cases of “imminent death,” allows lethal drugs to be administered within 48 hours. ○ This undermines critical time for evaluation and discernment, especially for patients facing mental health challenges, grief, or treatable conditions.

Why It Matters to You:
In 2022, Oregon dropped its residency requirement for assisted suicide. That means anyone in the U.S. can travel to Oregon to die by suicide. SB 1003 makes that process faster, easier, and less regulated.
That’s why we’re asking for your help right now.
What You Can Do: Submit written testimony opposing SB 1003 to Oregon lawmakers. Share this email with your network—especially any healthcare professionals. To submit written testimony, click here.
Written Testimony Deadline: 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 4, 2025
Together, we must push back against a culture that treats death as a solution and stand up for policies that protect life at the most vulnerable stages.
LifeNews Note: Carol Tobias is the president of the National Right to Life Committee.
I wonder if the non-death worshiping states, otherwise known as the red states, could bring whoever assists the suicide up on murder charges if they kill someone from their state?
What a vile state Oregon has become.
a wretched hive of scum and villainy
(thank you Morgana for your vigilance and posts!)
Go ahead and write or call the “representatives”. They are swathed in the robes of death. Death for the unborn, death for the elderly and sick, death to carve young bodies up to change gender.
They will not listen. We cannot vote them out due to fraud. I am disheartened.
I can envision flocks of out of their mind TDS libs and trannys creating traffic jams getting into Oregon.
“”I can envision flocks of out of their mind TDS libs and trannys creating traffic jams getting into Oregon.””
Hey, more souls for Satan. They could put that up on billboards advertising their “Welcome to Oregon. Enjoy a lavish, free trip to Hell”.
I wonder what internment arrangements will be? Composting perhaps.
I’ll drive any liberal there that wants to commit suicide. I’d rent a fleet of busses.
A fleet of busses is a great! Naming the fleet will be challenging though. The first name would of course be “suicide buses” but I think that’s already taken.
The Great American Liberation Tour would be a good name 🤣🤣🤣
CONTROL you, ALTer your thinking, DELETE you.
It’s not a slippery slope if it was part of the program all along.
So - if some of the “doctors” show up dead with a needle in their arms, will they be considered as having exercising their right to die?
What kind of checks and balances are they using?
America’s newest third world “territory”, Oregon, would be a great place to go to blow your brains out. You can even get a ghillie suit cheap up there to add to your experience.
These radicals can’t wait to kill their fellow citizens, if they can’t kill you via abortion, they will attempt to kill you via assisted suicide, and if that doesn’t work good old-fashioned euthanasia will get you when you get to old care for.
I’m pretty sure someone in any state can successfully kill himself without permission. I could be wrong. 😉
“…and in cases of “imminent death,” allows lethal drugs to be administered within 48 hours.“
Quickly! Quickly! He may die before we can kill him! (Dammit, Jim!)
