Gabbard considering ways to revamp Trump's intelligence briefing

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s intelligence chief is exploring ways to revamp his routine intelligence briefing in order to build his trust in the material and make it more aligned with how he likes to consume information, according to five people with direct knowledge of the discussions.

As part of that effort, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard has solicited ideas from current and former intelligence officials about steps she could take to tailor the briefing, known as the President’s Daily Brief, or PDB, to Trump’s policy interests and habits.

One idea that’s been discussed is possibly creating a video version of the PDB that’s made to look and feel like a Fox News broadcast, four of the people with direct knowledge of the discussions said.

Currently, the PDB is a digital document created daily for the president and key Cabinet members and advisers that includes written text, as well as graphics and images. The material that goes into the classified briefing, and how it’s presented, can shape a president’s decision-making.

According to his public schedule, since his inauguration Trump has taken the PDB 14 times, or on average less than once a week, which is less often than his recent predecessors — including himself during his first term. An analysis of their public schedules during that same timeframe — from their inauguration through May during their first year in office — shows that former President Joe Biden received 90 PDBs; Trump received 55; and former President Barack Obama received 63.

The people with direct knowledge of the PDB discussions said Gabbard believes that cadence may be a reflection of Trump’s preference for consuming information in a different form than the formal briefing, as well as his distrust of intelligence officials, which stretches back to his first term, when he accused...

I suggest a contest show with Steve Harvey saying, “I have to apologize.”

“Is she consulting with Brennan, Clapper, and Comey?”

Just the opposite, but somehow the Neocon types that you mention are able to get past her, to Trump.

MSM doing their usual tricks — Joe Biden received a standard briefing package — and LOTS of them! Joe was on top of things! Best president ever!! Trump? Well, he doesn’t take many packages because, you know, orange man. Also, a regular package is probably too much for a nut like Trump. They will design a special, dumbed-down package that looks more like a — yuck!! — Fox News report so that Trump can absorb it into his little brain.

As one who once took part in its preparation, I always thought that the daily briefing should arrive at the President’s desk as a fourpart: Military, Political, Economic, Social. Each would have a cover page — a precis of the individual report itself that is no more than three pages. Twelve minutes max to cover those important issues that should be brought to the attention of the President.

Exactly. This is a thinly veiled hit piece to make Trump look dumb. Note nobody is directly quoted. Just the usual “ unnamed sources”.

Shared lying. It takes more people to lie this extensively.

And now we see a place for the displaced NPR and PBS news crews: prepare the intelligence brief for President Trump’s viewing pleasure during breakfast. In proper journalistic format. With proper fact checking and unbiased slant. (Well, didn’t Corporation for Public Broadcasting claim that they are fair?)

The entire industrial planet has altered its learning methods over the years because some genius thinks children are not learning, or not learning well, or could improve on their retention, or _____________ (fill in with your favorite progressive, latest hairbrained idea), and it is not a surprise that some people today (even older schooled people) just might prefer a different method by which they receive information.

I used to refer to "bumper sticker information" to describe how a lot of information was disseminated.

I've had to alter my thinking to now say "meme education".Same thing only different.

I have no problem with a guy that continually operates in a targeted and specific way via a brief outline once a week.

Some of us are speed readers, quick studies and pretty good at learning stuff outside of "traditional" education.
