Initial exit polls for the Polish presidential election put the race at a dead heat, with the neo-liberal establishment candidate leading his conservative upstart opponent by a fraction of a percentage point.

UPDATE 2200: While the race is still too close to call, the votes from the Polish diaspora community in the United States have been fully counted. According to Gazeta Wyborcza, PiS conservative candidate Karol Nawrocki won 28,070 votes in America, or 56.65 per cent, compared to 21,479 votes, or 43.35 per cent, for liberal Warsaw Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski.

The original story continues as follows…

Polish voters went to the polls on Sunday for the second and final round of the presidential elections, which will decide the successor of Andrzej Duda, who has held the position since 2015 and was term-limited from running again

Seems a bit high to me. Why are they so bullish on Karol Nawrocki?

Nawrocki is 51% in exits and there’s reports of a lot of no answers in exit polling in conservative areas as well as a strong trend in social media towards him by youth

Shouldn’t be that close. They should vote strictly of who would be more firm with the Russians.

Even if the conservative wins the EU will declare the election void and file charges against him

Why the lowborn would vote against their own interests is baffling.

29582/32143 stations (92.03%)

Karol Nawrocki - 51.61%
Rafał Trzaskowski - 48.39%

Remaining stations look split conservative/liberal so it may be a win for nawrocki

...at least until the EU declares it invalid
