With more evidence that marijuana is harmful, why do Democrats push it so hard?

Someone I grew up with is a pothead, and all his friends are potheads, so I’ve seen firsthand how destructive it is. I’ve seen how it destroys ambition, discipline, intelligence, and moral fiber. It’s a vile drug, and a new study reveals that, no matter how you ingest it (eating versus smoking), it also destroys the body. That being the case, we must ask why Democrats are so determined to see it legalized across America.

You don’t need to take my anecdotal claims to know just how bad marijuana is for the people who use it. There are endless studies making the same point [links at original]:

• Marijuana triggers psychopathy.
• Long-term use of marijuana destroys motivation and ambition.
• Marijuana has a damaging effect on adolescent brain development, impairing learning, memory, and impulse control.
• Smoking or vaping marijuana increases respiratory illnesses.
• Marijuana use increases the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
• Marijuana use impairs the immune system’s functions.
• Marijuana can cause Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome, which leads to violent vomiting episodes.
• Marijuana can damage female and male fertility.
• Marijuana heightens mood disorders, anxiety, and suicidality.

***

I would argue that marijuana is much worse than tobacco. While tobacco damages your body, marijuana damages your mind and spirit. And that, I think, is why Democrats are relentlessly pushing to have it legalized.

[W]e need to reeducate young people. Pot is not harmless. It makes them stupid, lazy, sterile, and very, very sick. And we should have them ask themselves the same question I asked: If the powers that be know all of this, why are they so desperate to get young people hooked on the stuff?

Democrats think pot helps them think logically not knowing that nothing can really help other than turning conservative.

It is used to subdue a population by making them drug dependent. Ask Japan how that worked with China pre ww2.

Marijuana destroyed a childhood friend of mine. I watched it happen in slow motion. We both got our first hourly jobs together at the same grocery store. He began college. Then getting high became his favorite pastime. He pushed me to try it, almost had a fight over it.

He once asked me to pull over when we were driving somewhere together so he could scoop up some gutter water in his water pipe so that he could light up. I distanced myself from him after that. He ended up with several jail stints soon after. He’s now a vagrant, living hand to mouth and staying with whatever friends can put up with him.

My first wife was a prescription opiate addict.

My second wife’s ex was a pot addict.

We wouldn’t be together but for the destruction of drugs.

“””Marijuana destroyed a childhood friend of mine. I watched it happen in slow motion.””

Been there, done that. It’s just a harmless plant. It is so much better than alcohol. Blah Blah Blah.

Keep them stoned, they are easier to control.
