Supreme Court just rendered "constraints of law irrelevant"—Justice Jackson
Newsweek ^ | May 30, 2025 | Shane Croucher

Liberal Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson said the Supreme Court is allowing the government "to do what it wants" in a scathing dissent, after justices allowed the Trump administration to strip temporary legal protections from hundreds of thousands of immigrants.

Supreme Court justices lifted a lower-court order that kept humanitarian parole protections in place for more than 500,000 migrants from four countries: Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela.

The court has also allowed the administration to revoke temporary legal status from about 350,000 Venezuelan migrants in another case.

Jackson said the decision "allows the government to do what it wants to do regardless, rendering constraints of law irrelevant and unleashing devastation in the process."

The dissent, alongside fellow liberal Justice Sonia Sotomayor, comes amid a flurry of mixed decisions for the Trump administration as it seeks to use the country's highest court to overturn lower court injunctions and restraining orders on its sweeping immigration policies.

The Supreme Court's decision puts a stay on a lower court's ban on the Trump administration's move to end the Biden-era humanitarian parole program known as CHNV.

President Donald Trump has argued that the program allowed the previous administration to import thousands of immigrants, sometimes claiming they were illegal.

Interesting that Newsweek actually identifies the DEI Justice and "Wise Latina" as liberals.

But what is missing from the article if I'm understanding correctly is that this program was an executive action, not law. So what one president puts in an executive order another president can undo.

hmm.....so it wasn’t doing exactly that when the Biden administration gave them temporary protected status? Its OK when a president you agree with enacts a policy but somehow some great offense to the constitution when a president you don’t like reverses that policy? That is the only legal “principle” you’re arguing for here.

strip temporary legal protections from hundreds of thousands of immigrants.

strip temporary legal protections from hundreds of thousands of illegal trespassers, too many of whom go on to terrorize citizens.

There, fixed it

So what? These people are gone.

BTW, the Supreme Court doesn't create law. It interprets it.

Take that, Boasberg.

So Biden can create a program, in this case CHNV. But Trump can’t remove this program?

KBJ, along with the other libturds on the Court, again demonstrates that ‘butt hurt’ should be a legal argument. But, for now, it is not.
These a$$clowns somehow regularly confuse sound legal interpretation with their own leftwing fantasies. And, it’s always to the detriment of the Nation.

Poor gal. This obvious affirmative action hire is *still* struggling to define what a woman is.

The failure to make a distinction between legal immigrants and illegal aliens is the same as equating a bank depositor making a withdrawal to a bank robber stealing money at gunpoint.

The DEI Justice, in addition to not being able to define “woman”, does not know the meaning of the word “temporary”.

If you read her dissent you’ll note her opinion is based primarily upon feelings but is short on applicable law.

Ah...Ketanji Brown Jackson. Can’t / won’t define what a woman is...you silly sh!thead. Nominated in 2022 by the only non-present president in US history and confirmed by a “woke” (joke) liberal senate the same year. Forever branded Supreme Court Cupid STunt after claiming not being a biologist somehow absolved her from common sense thats known by any six year old on the planet. Screw this bitch thoroughly and completely. If any SC justice is deserving of removal its Ketanji Brown Jackson. Rant /off.

@USSupremeCourt

The “justice” who doesn’t know what a woman is proves she doesn’t belong on any court - much less one where the brightest constitutional minds are required....

Yes, but she'd have to change her name to "Kamala".

Was she nominated by Autopen? If so the challenges to legality of Biden’s actions could affect her.
