The YMCA’s descent from Christian haven to LGBTQ+ sanctuary for children

Yesterday, the American Parents Coalition sent a warning about YMCA summer camps: They’ve embraced the transgender agenda, so you have no idea who will be sharing your daughter’s shower or her cabin. This trajectory perfectly illustrates O’Sullivan’s First Law, which predicts the inevitable decline of Western institutions.

Although few remember this anymore, the YMCA started life in 1844 as the “Young Men’s Christian Association.” The primary founder was George Williams, a London draper (i.e., a working man), who was disturbed that young men who came to London had no wholesome, moral way to spend time when their workday ended. Instead, they were to be found in taverns drinking and gaming, and in brothels.

Williams was a Christian who regularly had prayer and Bible-study meetings with his friends. He realized that young men, strangers in a strange land, needed to have a place where these options were available. So, on June 6, 1844, joined by 11 friends, he had an inaugural meeting that saw them found the Young Men’s Christian Association. They identified its purpose as “improving...the spiritual condition of young men engaged in the drapery, embroidery, and other trades.”

The Victorian world quickly recognized that the Y.M.C.A. was a perfect antidote to the corruption that follows lonely young men in a big city, and chapters began to spring up across the Western world. Within a decade, there were world conferences...and the Young Women’s Christian Association was born, too.

In keeping with the notion of “muscular Christianity,” which was the Victorian version of the old Latin dictum “mens sana in corpore sano” (a healthy mind in a healthy body), Y.M.C.A.s opened gymnasiums and safe lodging places. Generations of young men found healthy sports camaraderie at “the Y,” playing basketball, swimming, or working out with dumb bells and weight machines.

When I first moved to Spokane, I joined a YMCA close to my house. Great gym, nice, helpful employees and the equipment that works for me (I’m very small). Met very nice people there, including a Japanese man I liked to talk to on side-by-side treadmills.

Then one day, after 10 happy years, a man showed up in the women’s locker room. I quit the gym and joined Muv Fitness, just a block away. Equipment not as suitable for me but ho men in the dressing room. Yet.

I was getting food to go last night. On my right a friend, truck driver, White Christian guy.

On my left, a truck driver, Black gentleman that I had not met before (he was from out of town).

“YMCA” comes on and I said: “It’s all-gay music all of the time.”

The Black gentleman said to me: “I was just thinking the same thing!”

We then discussed the whole gay push going in in this country since the
arrival of one DEMOCRAT Manchurian Candidate Barack Hussein Obama.

He agreed with me. I then offered him an End Times Gospel / Bible tract - “The Beast” - he thanked me for it. Unfortunately he has to leave and I had to go do something so I wasn’t able to get him a Bible. Perhaps next time 🛐🙏✝️.

That gentleman was from Georgia. Please pray 🙏🙏🙏 that I see him again and can get a Bible to him (free).

Interestingly enough, a young woman had turn down the very same Gospel tract about two weeks ago (I have many of them).

Last night offered one to someone for a bookmark 🔖 for their Bible but they didn’t want it. She looked at it and then said she’d take it. Wonderful. Then I offered her the same type of tract that I gave to the truck driver and THIS TIME she TOOK it.

After flipping through it she said the pictures really helps to explain things.

I spent about 15 minutes doing a quick review of Bible Prophecy / Doctrine with her.

As I left, I was going to visit a nearby gas station ⛽🚉⛽ to give three more single page Tract inserts to people I had given three Bibles to. (2 workers plus one guy’s wife who does not work there - gave a Bible through him).

BUT then I decided that they would not be there. So I was gonna take the left lane outta the place down to the highway 🛣️.

BUT there was construction 🚧 🚧 🚧 blocking the left lane out so I had to get in the right lane. THEN a car shot up left of me and I think 🤔 another so I decided we’ll guess I’m supposed to go across the highway 🛣️ to the gas ⛽🚉⛽ station.

Saw the car of one worker, gave her three Gospel tract inserts which she promised to pass on two to the other worker for him and his wife.

Then I gave a Bible to another woman working there.

Didn’t expect most of that to happen last night.
