Thank you very much and God bless you.

I need to fix the characterization of the contest. Rafal Trzaskowski is a member of the Civic Union, a center-right, pro-EU party. Karol Nawrocki is a member of Law & Justice, a conservative, moderately Eurosceptic party.

Trzaskowski is the mayor of Warsaw and finished in first place in the first round of voting, a week and a half ago, but with less then a majority.

Nawrocki is an historian, most recently director of a museum, and finished second.

While Trzaskowski finished first, Nawrocki appeals better to the supporters of the libertarian and populist-right candidates that finished third and fourth. The post-first round polls indicate this race is very close.

Nawrocki, the historian, main scholarship has been the oppression of Poles during the communist era. For this, he is wanted on criminal charges by the Russian Federation.

I don't think Europe has anything to worry about in this run-off election.

Poland will defend Europe as it did against the Mongols, as it did against the Ottomans, and as it did in the Polish-Soviet War.

I’ll break the suspense: the EU choice will win.

I don’t think nationalists are allowed to win.

The fake news media told us that the 2024 election in the USA was going to be razor tight. It wasn’t.

There seem to be a lot of dirty tricks against Nawrocki.

The first was just before the initial vote when a reporter asked him if he only owned 1 apartment. Then the press revealed he had acquired another apartment by agreeing to help an elderly man estranged from his family. It's not clear if the man ever asked for help. It seems more like Nawrocki just signed the paperwork and then forgot about it.

Yesterday's headlines were that Nawrocki acted as a pimp while a student, procuring hookers for people at a fancy hotel in Gdynia, according to two anonymous witnesses, of course.

This really smells like the same defamation of Trump in 2016 and afterwards.

The funny thing is that Nawrocki's polls fell for a couple of days after the first "revelation" but rose quickly afterwards: it seems like the 24/7 anti-Nawrocki reporting made it evident that this was a smear campaign, which actually helped Nawrocki in the polls.

About a month ago there was a log opinion piece in the paper Rzeczpospolita that summarized all the then candidates for President. The author's conclusion was that none of them possessed the qualities needed to lead Poland at this moment because none of them could bring Poland together around a clear set of policies for addressing the EU and Russia. I tend to agree with him witnessing the stupid press coverage and the endless backbiting among Polish politicians even when the wolf is at the door.

Europe doesn’t want to lose another staging area to make war on Russia.
