A federal judge on Thursday blocked President Donald Trump’s executive order to shut down the Education Department and ordered the agency to reinstate employees who were fired in mass layoffs.
U.S. District Judge Myong Joun in Boston granted a preliminary injunction stopping the Trump administration from carrying out two plans announced in March that sought to work toward Trump’s goal to dismantle the department. It marks a setback to one of the Republican president’s campaign promises.
The injunction was requested in a lawsuit filed by the Somerville and Easthampton school districts in Massachusetts and the American Federation of Teachers, along with other education groups.

Thank you very much and God bless you.
Ignore.

Without a clear and sound constitutional basis for this ruling, the Court decision should be ignored and nullified with a statement of sound constitutional basis for nullification, and Trump should carry out the layoffs of the UNCONSTITUTIONAL DoEd which itself should be wholly dismantled.
They aren't employees of the DoEd, so ... standing??

Worse than “Another judge that wants to run the country” is a FOREIGN judge who wants to run the country.
But, at least he served. You’d think that he wouldn’t try to overrun the executive branch.

Myong is wrong.
Standing?? They need the DoEd so they’ll be able to select the proper educational materials for their LGBTQ and transgender students. After all, that’s very important these days. /s
He made it quite clear that some federal judge won’t be dictating U.S. foreign policy.
I’m assuming the same principle applies to this and other judicial turkeys trying to dictate a thumbs up or down on every administrative action taken by this or any other president.
So how come these layoffs and all the others are not in the so called “big, beautiful bill”? Otherwise, as far as I am concerned, there is nothing beautiful to celebrate.
War and democrat judging is politics by other means.
Just another of Schumer’s radical judges he picked to stop Trump’s MAGA effort. Is it legal to put traitors like this in front of a firing squad? ... along with the traitor that put them in power?
Too bad judge. What are you going to do about it?
Exactly! 100%!
How many foreign born judges did that child sniffing chomo and Kenyan commie appoint?
Granting injunctive relief when there is no irreparable harm is the real problem. Irreparable harm = Only when Money will not remedy the dispute. These TRO’s and injunctions (any which are not based on constitutional questions) are illegitimate and illegal under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure Rule 65.
Is it legal to put traitors like this in front of a firing squad? ... along with the traitor that put them in power?

No. Firing squads are illegal, but drawing and quartering is legal.

Notable rulings In March 2025, Joun issued a temporary restraining order on the freezing of teacher training grants that were alleged by the Trump administration to include funding for diversity, equity, and inclusion, but on April 4, 2025, the Supreme Court reinstated the freeze in a 5–4 decision.
And right on cue Trump’s lawyers will cave and follow the illegal orders
When the h_ _l are We The People (i.e. the taxpayers) going to start being protected as well as thugs, criminals, and lazy government placeholders and money drainers? When will judges, House, Senate, etc realize, there is negative B-zillions of dollars in the bank?
