Trump is pushing Republicans to fall in line behind his agenda. Chip Roy could stand in the way

As President Donald Trump attempts to muscle his GOP agenda through a narrow House majority, Rep. Chip Roy is perhaps the most important holdout to win over. He may also be the toughest.
Speaker Mike Johnson and his team have been confident they can pass Trump’s massive reconciliation bill, because they don’t believe any Republican will want to stand in the way and face Trump’s wrath. But Roy, the unapologetic fiscal hawk, is the rare GOP lawmaker willing to publicly challenge the president. He has already survived multiple calls by his own party to oust him — including from Trump himself.
“Chip Roy has got courage,” said Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina, who has worked behind the scenes with Roy to force party leaders to seek deeper cuts in the legislation. Asked why few other Republicans are willing to speak up against Trump’s bill, Norman said: “A lot of them are more interested in coming back to Congress and doing whatever it takes to appease each little group.”

Well neo looking colonel Sanders(Chip Roy), give the democrats a win, just for your grandstanding and love of the radical liberal media.

CNN is in love with Chip Roy for one reason, and one reason only.
And CNN won’t be in love with him for long. You can bank on that!

He’s been a thorn in Trump’s side for both terms. He simply can’t be trusted, especially when the stakes are high.

This is masterful propaganda by CNN.
CNN hates strong conservatives like Chip Roy. So how best to leverage MAGA loyalty?
Pitt them against each other in a pitbull fighting ring by putting Chip Roy’s name into the headline.
Masterful. Simply masterful, CNN.

Not what he’s doing. That's exactly what he's doing, giving joy to the radical liberal media.

He definitely wants to be in an updated version of JFK’s “Profiles in Courage”.
JFK was a democrat and our courageous Chip wants to help give the democrats what they want - a weak America and higher taxes, while destroying 47’s Presidency. This to make him stand out for the 2028 Presidential race as a potent contender ... or so he imagines.

[So you are ok with Chip giving AOC and Bernie a victory.]
Trump is giving AOC and Bernie a victory by funding the Green New Deal and Biden’s Medicaid expansion. He is continuing Biden’s unsustainable budget deficits, taking it from 6% to 7%. His refusal to cut Democrat spending priorities is why Chip Roy has had to stand up for the American taxpayer. The cowardice of other GOP lawmakers is disheartening. The entire GOP caucus should be vetoing this fiscal atrocity.
I don’t agree with Chip on some things, but his principled objection here is why I hold him in high regard. People here talk loosely about how the dollar is worthless, and so on. If we run the 7% deficits Trump wants today, vs the 3% in Trump’s first term, the dollar will see its value crater at a much more rapid rate.

Even if this BBB* makes it out of the House, Grok gives it a 40 or 50 percent chance in the Senate. GROK is AI, believe AI all you want, I'd rather listen to humans like president Trump.
