Joe Biden, 82, spoke out for the first time since his cancer diagnosis with a social media post on Monday morning.
'Cancer touches us all,' the former president wrote on X with a selfie of him sporting a brave smile alongside a somber-looking former first lady Jill Biden, who is holding their gray tabby cat Willow.
'Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places,' Biden added. 'Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.'
The post comes just hours after Biden's personal office revealed that he was diagnosed on Friday with a severe case of prostate cancer that metastasized and spread to his bones.
A statement on the diagnosis said that the Biden family is deciding on treatment options.
'On Friday, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer, characterized by a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) with metastasis to the bone,' it adds of the grave prognosis.
Prostate cancers are provided a 'Gleason score,' which measures how the cancerous cells look compared with normal cells. Biden's score of 9 suggests his cancer is among the most aggressive.
'While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,' his office noted.
The announcement came just one week after reports revealed that a 'small nodule' was found on Biden's prostate that needed 'further evaluation.'

Everyone realizing having Biden become President was elder abuse.

I agree, I wouldn’t wish cancer on anyone, but look at positive side, Joe beat oil cancer, he can beat his too.

My father in law had prostate cancer at 78 and it was treated and he’s now 86.
A friend of mine was diagnosed with prostate cancer at 59. He went on the interwebs and read a lot of info about how normal treatments would cause impotence, incontinence and other stuff. He was big into health and “juiced” vegetables even, as his primary diet. He decided to “self treat” because the internet said he could. PAfter 3 or 4 years he finally went back to the doctor but it was too late. He was a childhood friend and a true free-spirit. RiP Buddy.
Love how the hacks at the Mail just accept the story that the Bidens just found out. It locks to me like the plan was to have Biden leave mid term making Harris the President.
