The Trump agenda suffered a major setback today after a handful of Republicans voted a key bill delivering it down in committee.
Now, the largest tax increase in American history looms unless the GOP does an about-face.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, the House Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee—led by Chairman Jason Smith (R-MO)—previously released the text of a monumental new tax reform package titled “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill.”
The bill, strongly backed by President Donald Trump, is aimed at delivering historic cuts to American families, workers, and small businesses.
The 389-page bill includes a long list of pro-growth, America-First provisions that echo many of the successful features of the 2017 Trump Tax Cuts—this time with added firepower. This includes no taxes on tips and overtime.
But five GOPers in the House Budget Committee shot it down primarily over cost concerns.
One particular gripe was the Medicaid “cuts” and the expiration of several wasteful ‘green’ energy tax credits were pushed back several years, while most of the “goodies” were delivered up front.
Trump’s “The One, Big, Beautiful Bill” cannot move forward to a full vote in the House or Senate—at least not in its current form.
The final vote was 16-21 against. Here were the Republicans who voted against the President’s agenda:
Rep. Andrew Clyde of Georgia Rep. Chip Roy of Texas Rep. Josh Brecheen of Oklahoma Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina Rep. Lloyd Smucker of Pennsylvania THE HOUSE BUDGET COMMITTEE has voted down the reconciliation bill.

The committee is not expected to come back today, according to Rep. Jodey Arrington (R-TX)

Earlier today, Trump called on GOP holdouts to unite behind him and approve the legislation.
TRUMP: “Republicans MUST UNITE behind, “THE ONE, BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL!” Not only does it cut Taxes for ALL Americans, but it will kick millions of Illegal Aliens off of Medicaid to PROTECT it for those who are the ones in real need. The Country will suffer greatly without this Legislation, with their Taxes going up 65%. It will be blamed on the Democrats, but that doesn’t help our Voters. We don’t need “GRANDSTANDERS” in the Republican Party. STOP TALKING, AND GET IT DONE! It is time to fix the MESS that Biden and the Democrats gave us. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

If the Trump tax cuts from his first term are allowed to expire, that creates a tax increase on all of us. Something to keep in mind. Doing nothing results in tax increases.
There are some nasty pork projects in it. Nobody said it would be easy.
They aren’t RINOs. They are REAL Republicans. We are heading off a fiscal cliff and they’re the only ones trying to stop it.
Trump should have stayed in the USA to do the necessary arm-twisting with Jonson.

What? You don’t buy their new found concern about costs?
You see.... we only have the Supreme Court, the White House, the Senate and the House. Now is not the time to be trying to reign in spending or implement a conservative budget.
We need to wait until we have 2/3 majorities in both houses of Congress and all 9 Justices on the Supreme Court to do that.
Until then we need to keep spending MORE money than we did the previous year and continue to increase the debt.
It’s the only reasonable path forward.
Blame Lara Trump and the RNC quislings who stopped working after November 5 and let House and Senate seats get stolen again by the Democrats.
Real Republicans are the ones who follow the lead of the Republican president.

The Republicans are looking for their customary scraps from the table, in exchange for not really changing anything.
Four millionaires and an Oklahoma Indian who took the lofty intellectual seat of MarkWayne Mullen when he went to the Senate. That is who killed the tax cuts.
They are all doing just fine personally.
The Republicans, once again impeding Trump all they can. Trump can deal with Saudis, Syrian ISIS, Iranians, Kim in North Korea, you name it....
But his own party is a stone wall standing against him.
Unreal.
