Yeahhhh.... that’s a real brain teaser.
“Does everyone on earth have an right to US citizenship if they momma can make it across the goal line and drops a baby?”
No other nation does it that way. And our betters cannot figure this puzzle out.
The Wide Latina knows the anchor babies are dual citizens. Her logic would make every military brat stateless.
EC
Despite the original intent of amendment the Supreme Court will NEVER end Birth Right citizenship. Both parties support the Great Replacement and the Supreme Court won’t attempt to slow it down.
I’m just gonna place my bet now. 5-4 against Trump on this with Roberts and ACB siding with the libs.
Sotomayor is an idiot. The issue before them is the legality of nationwide injunctions.
7-2.
“86 47”
The torpedoes are primed and ready for firing.
We are going to lose this one. The left hates the country.
We’re going to lose this battle, but Trump probably anticipated that. Nevertheless, birthright citizenship will end eventually, even if it takes changing the Constitution.
Part of 14th Amendment:
“The 14th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution grants citizenship to all persons born or naturalized in the United States, ensuring they are subject to its jurisdiction.”
So I guess all these kids who are then US citizens and are subject to its jurisdiction must turn their parents into immigration if they cross the border illegally because they have broken Federal Law.
this should be 9-0 in favor of Trump and the consitution..
but here I am thinking we’ll be lucky with 5-4 in our favor.
I’m predicting a mixed ruling, yes to citizenship for babies who’s parent’s were here legally at the time of birth, no to citizenship for babies of illegals.
Nice straw argument.
The only issue at stake in this particular argument is whether district courts can issue universal injunctions.
The actual question - which looks at the “subject to the jurisdiction” portion of the EO will be looked at later.
You address neither element in your post.
it doesn’t require changing.
It requires something that the founders never expected..
Judges that know how to read.
Sounds too reasonable to me. 🤡
I believe that the 1th Amendment was never meant to give instant citizeenship to illegal aliens and tourists.
That is my exact prediction 5-4 the wrong way. Likely the SCOTUS will rule against universal injunctions but leave birthright citizenship alone.
El Fixo.
Yeahhhh.... that’s a real brain teaser.
“Does everyone on earth have an right to US citizenship if they momma can make it across the goal line and drops a baby?”
Apparently it is confusing for people called liberals. The words “Under the Jurisdiction” has no meaning to them. We will say what the SCOTUS says.
