That’s one way Bill Gates can reduce the population he’s so “worried” about

Dave: "Open the pod bay doors, HAL. AI has replaced the 6,000."

HAL 9000: "Yes, I can do that, Dave."

Every org needs to do that periodically just to fix hiring mistakes.

I used to be a contractor at Microsoft. These cuts are nothing. The average tenure of a Microsoft employee is about 4 years. That means 25% turnover every year. 3% cut is for Wall Street, but no practical impact on the company.

The average tenure of a Microsoft employee is about 4 years.

4 years? That usually means the company sucks bad!

If you’re just starting your career at MS,
don’t saddle yourself with a house payment.

Pretty much means employees are an easily disposable and replaceable asset at Microsoft.

You can be sure Microsoft’s H1B / OPT petitions will continue.

That’s the nice way of saying the company is looking for the cheaper labor. I’d guess they employ lots of foreign nationals.
