Europe and US briefly upped the pressure on Russia over Ukraine. Trump upended that

For about 30 hours, the illusion of transatlantic unity over Ukraine was maintained.

Europe and Ukraine had demanded a deal on the 30-day unconditional ceasefire the Trump administration proposed two months earlier. European leaders said US President Donald Trump had personally backed their plan – and threat of sanctions if Russia declined to sign up by Monday – in a Saturday phone call, a picture of which they posted online from Kyiv.

Trump’s special envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, even joined a chorus of US allies demanding Russia adhere to the ceasefire demand.

But then Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke, refusing to even mention the demand, and instead presenting something old as something new: direct Russia-Ukraine talks in Istanbul, four days later. And transatlantic unity shattered. Trump leapt on the Kremlin proposal – simply stating on his Truth Social network that Putin didn’t want a ceasefire – and instea

If you really want to scare yourself, just imagine that the laughable CNN staff got to control anything more complex than a simple screwdriver.

Eventually the Neocons will learn that it is literally IMPOSSIBLE to get the winning side in a war to surrender.

Socialist/LGBT Europe should be receiving pressure, not upping it on nations that are better than they are.

DATELINE: June 13th, 1944 -

“Following last week’s successful Normandy landing, German forces have demanded everyone respect a 30 day cease-fire.”

“Following last week’s successful Normandy landing, German forces have demanded everyone respect a 30 day cease-fire.”

...or else Hitler will have to face “bone-crunching sanction”, per Herr Ludwig Graham.

The reality is that May 15 is likely the moment of truth for the Ukraine.

They can either move forward with a negotiated settlement to the war or Russia will move to settle things militarily

These "leaders" have all worked to get President Trump to lead. That is, fund and fight further.

CNN states this is "the moment when Trump must decide whether he will join his European allies in causing pain to Russia for refusing a truce."

Malarkey. Sanctions and years of money and materiel have been sent to Ukraine by the US, including during President Trump's first term. This is NOT as reported above, as Starmer, Macron, Merz and Tusk all sit around with Zelensky at that table.

Their game was given away by Tusk, who is facing a tough re-election. Weeks earlier:

500 million Europeans are asking 300 million Americans to defend them against 140 million Russians. [...] Europe today lacks the belief that we are truly a global force.”

Polish PM Donald Tusk, speaking before his flight to London for the European Ukraine summit:

Tusk: "Europe today lacks the belief that we are truly a global force"

Time for Europe to decide, clearly and without hiding behind the Trump administration. But Poland votes 18 May, and Tusk needs to win or the picture changes.

They’re so pathetic. I guarantee that if Trump had treated the press as though they were the ‘special people’ they think they are they would not be doing this. It’s all about their egos.

I seem to remember Trump speaking of negotiating and end to the war.

Then all at once it became the only thing we hear about is a ceasefire.

I would bet Kellogg, the DS boy Trump oddly put into his admin, was behind that because that is what the Euros and Green Booger kept demanding.

No way was Russia going to trust Zelensky to honor any ceasefire. The pre condition is that the US was supposed to monitor all that. hah

The ceasefire demand made it possible for Zelensky to keep crowing about how he wanted peace talks but only if a 30 day ceasefire first. He knew that was never going to happen unless Russia was on the ropes.

Either he wants peace talks, or he doesn’t.

I listened to Robert Barnes and Viva Frei talking about what is going on with everything right now and Barnes is so spot on.

Worth a listen. He talks about Bondi, Kash, etc.

Absolutely!

Russia has been winning for the last 3+ years, and they will continue winning and will close the deal in the next 100 years. If Ukraine does not make a deal to surrender within the next 100 years, Putin will get angrier and settle things militarily.

“No way was Russia going to trust Zelensky to honor any ceasefire. The pre condition is that the US was supposed to monitor all that.”

Considering that Europe and the US at war against Russia, it would be difficult to see why Russia would agree to anything involving them as monitors. Maybe China, Iran, or North Korea, but not the Neocons. Likewise, Putin knows that any promises by Trump, no matter how sincere, mean nothing if a Neocon type wins in 2029. Same for written agreements and even treaties.

So what’s left? If the West, meaning Trump, REALLY wants the war to end, he needs to agree to Putin’s demands...or else provide something else meaningful, which would be a US pull-back to at least Cold War borders, if not further. I think Trump knows that, but is afraid of the Neocon/European blowback.

Zelensky and the Coalition of the Posers thought they had a winning hand with their 30 day cease fire demands. Then Putin upped the ante with his direct Russia-Ukraine talks card and Trump called.
