California and 16 other states are suing the Trump administration for halting federal money slated to build more electric vehicle chargers. Gov. Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta accused the Trump administration of unlawfully withholding funding approved by Congress in the lawsuit filed in federal court Wednesday. The National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program had dedicated $5 billion to expand clean car charging across the country, including more than $300 million for projects in California.

I think it’s safe to assume whatever money they think they’re due would not have built a single charging station. It’s just graft.

While California shuts down refineries and pushes gas up towards $6 — and it’s going higher too

As of 2023 there are 1.1 million BEV's (fully electric, not hybrids) on the roads in California.

So the state is fussing about $300 million in funding, or about $300 per EV owner. That seems a bit much. Especially when most charging is done at home. Unless you can't charge at home, you need a road-side charger only if you take your EV on long trips. Does it seem realistic to expect $300 per EV owner for just his couple of road trips?

Catch a clue, they want to steal that money. Maybe one or two charging stations would get finished.

How much Federal money has California already received for charging stations and how many were built. Let start with those numbers.

Say, didn’t the Biden administration give billions to a company that was to produce charging stations for EVs and they only built 7?
“Nov 24, 2024”Joe Biden’s administration invested $7.5 billion into EV charging stations, but somehow only built 7 or 8 stations in about 2 years, and now people want to know where all the money went,”

CA is out of money.
