Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene says she won’t run for Senate while blasting Dems and fellow Republicans
NY Post via fox ^ | 05.10.2025 | Paul Steinhauser

Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, a top House ally of President Donald Trump and a MAGA firebrand with a national following, is passing on a 2026 Senate run.

The three-term conservative lawmaker who represents a solidly red district in northwest Georgia, in a lengthy statement announcing her decision that was posted to social media on Friday night, took aim at Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff, a top GOP target whom Republicans view as extremely vulnerable in next year’s midterm elections.

But Greene saved much of her venom for fellow Republicans, many of whom feared a polarizing campaign if Greene became the party’s 2026 nominee in Georgia, and for the institution of the Senate itself.

“Someone once said, ‘The Senate is where good ideas go to die.’ They were right. That’s why I’m not running,” Greene wrote as she announced her decision.

Sounds wise to me.
Until we can remove one of the ObamaBots from the GA Senate, keeping her safe in the House is a wise idea.

That's hilarious, and she may be right. OTOH, if MAGA approaches critical mass in the Senate, things may be different.

I don’t think she could win in Georgia. Maybe Mississippi.

Maybe, maybe not. But she is 100% correct in her assessment of the worthless UniParty/GOP Senate.

“In part because this Admin is floundering. Lots of PR stunts but darned little enforcement of existing laws.”

Why is it floundering? Why doesn’t Trump INSIST on action? He promised me the largest mass deportation in the history of the United States. He constantly boasted “we are going to destroy the deep state”. With Bondi, Patel, and Bongino? With all talk no action Homan? At the end of this term the United States will still harbor 30-40 million illegals feeding off of the taxpayer at his rate of deportations. Had a glimmer of hope when Trump won this time. Anyone being honest with themselves can see it’s not happening. Trump is great at finance, but he doesn’t have the courage to do what is necessary to restore The Republic like Bukele did with El Salvadore.

many of whom feared a polarizing campaign if Greene became the party’s 2026 nominee

three thoughts:
1) GOP and Fear go together like peas and carrots
2) The DNC never cares about putting up "polarizing" candidates.
3) The GOP wants to lose the midterms like the did in 2018 so the dems can block Trump and let the GOP still pretend to be conservative.

“”Forgot to mention the Court Bottle Neck approach the enemy is using…..””

Years ago in my work place, I taped a cartoon by my desk which read:

“Bottle necks start at the top.” It was so appropriate I couldn’t pass it up.

My boss and owner of the company didn’t see the humor OR appreciate it!!

I always complained about others incompetence that affected how I did my work...

Good. It’s not that I don’t like her. I just don’t think she would win. Republicans need someone that can win against that useless democrat.

Buddy Carter is obviously the MAGA candidate for GA Senate.
MTG would be stupid to run against Buddy.

Will a “mainstream” Republican run against Buddy Carter? Only if a 2d MAGA candidate can split the MAGA vote.

Will there be a tradeoff? One faction gets Senate. Other faction gets Governor with an attempt at Unity?
