President Trump’s Education Department warned Harvard University Monday that the Ivy League school is no longer eligible for new federal grants — until they address rampant, flagrant antisemitism on campus and otherwise “demonstrates responsible management.”
In a lengthy letter to university President Alan Garber, Education Secretary Linda McMahon charged that Harvard “has made a mockery of this country’s higher education system.”
“It has invited foreign students, who engage in violent behavior and show contempt for the United States of America, to its campus,” she added. “In every way, Harvard has failed to abide by its legal obligations, its ethical and fiduciary duties, its transparency responsibilities and any semblance of academic rigor.”

No more money for a private university. There’s no reason to add special conditions.
TBH I’m more concerned about anti-Americanism than I am antisemitism.
Agreed. Just pull the plug.
except for any essential defense-related research grants (and most of this will be at Stanford and MIT, not so much Harvard), ALL federal taxpayer money to Harvard should cease Immediately !
I agree with the letter, Harvard has made a mockery of academia. we will NEVER hire anybody from Harvard! Or for that matter Columbia or several other pro-communist, pro=Nazi, anti-Christian, anti-Jewish “colleges”
to He]] with them!
Doesn’t sound like Hitler to me.
If Trump succeeds in revoking Harvard’s tax-exempt status, the university could owe over $500 million a year in taxes on investment income from its $53 billion endowment. That’s not just a culture war—it’s a budget war.
A half-billion-dollar hit every year is a serious financial reckoning.
Taxing even a portion of those earnings at the 21% corporate rate reveals just how much was sheltered behind nonprofit status.
Whatever the final tax bill, it’s guaranteed to be huge.
Do they hate Jews & Israel $500M’s worth?
He’ll still allow anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-male, anti-Herosexual official curriculum from the lecterns.
Exactly. Let their alum pay the bills
Ping!
How about no money from taxpayers now or ever! I did not vote to give those commies at Hah-vad a plug nickel
Put a tariff on foreign students tuition.
As Muslims have often said, "first the Saturday people, then the Sunday people". I am concerned about both.
Many people have been helped by treatments developed by NIH- and NSF-funded research carried out by Harvard researchers! These scientists are seldom responsible for the antisemitic nonsense that may have taken place at Harvard! And some of us remember when the issue was anti-Christian harassment, in some cases perpetrated by Jews!
Harvard’s endowment funds scholarships for low-income students. If severe financial pressure is applied to Harvard, that will cease, to the detriment of all of us.
If the anti-Harvard actions of the administration continue, high-level research will move from the USA to China. This has already started to happen!

I would much rather have a free USA be the center of research than a totalitarian China! I believe that most of us here would agree.
Research is being done at other American universities. It should be possible to move many research projects from Harvard to other institutions that want to rise in prominence.
The impact of events could have an influence on changing religious attitudes and creating stronger coalitions between Christians and Jews. As Muslim often say “first the Saturday people, then the Sunday people”.
......“It has invited foreign students, who engage in violent behavior and show contempt for the United States of America, to its campus,”......
I agree with limiting admission of Third World students to Harvard, MIT, Stanford, etc. Take in more students (especially including white men) from Arizona, Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas, etc.
Hooray for the Harvard cowboys!
Long overdue. Thank you, Mr. President!
Even if Trump manages to do it this time, it'll only last for a short term. Gavin Newsom will just make Harvard tax-exempt again.
