Donald Trump shook the nation with his new plan to pay every illegal migrant who self-deports over $1,000 - including their plane ticket out of the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security shared a plan incentivizing self-deportation through the repurposed CBP Home app.
In addition, his new plan to 'rebuild and open Alcatraz' as he seeks to crack down on violent criminals and illegal migrants is also shaking up Republicans and Democrats.
The plan is expected to cost roughly $300 million - which would be footed by American taxpayers.

The White House unveiled a plan that will pay migrants up to $1,000 if they deport themselves from the U.S.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) shared a plan incentivizing self-deportation through the repurposed CBP Home app, which the Trump administration is using to facilitate the removal of migrants in the U.S. illegally.
'Any illegal alien who uses the CBP Home App to self-deport will also receive a stipend of $1,000 dollars, paid after their return to their home country has been confirmed through the app,' a DHS press release released on Monday states.
'Currently the average cost to arrest, detain, and remove an illegal alien is $17,121,' it adds.
Senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller, one of the masterminds behind Trump's sweeping immigration agenda, said the long-term savings per self-deported family could be well over $1 million.
'The savings are as much as $1 million per illegal alien family given the long-term costs of free welfare and public support,' he wrote on X.

$300 million at 1k each is only 300,000 self deportees. But its another bite of the apple.
This great. Peanuts in comparison to what they cost us.
They will go home collect the money and then return after visting mom and dad.
I would presume these payments would only apply to illegals in the country who have no other criminal record (other than being here illegally)

Yep, a heckuva lot cheaper than a full trial for each one.
Not a terrible idea. If it saves more than that in enforcement costs, it is obviously worth it. It also helps them depart with dignity, and can help them get in a better situation back home. It also helps reduce the strain on our housing and employment and public services demand, helps lower prices across the board, etc etc etc.
Hell, they’re costing us a lot more than that now - put up at 5-star hotels, everything paid for, given phones, free medical care and cash cards worth up to $2,000.
In the long run, they’ll cost us even more.
Offer them the $1k with no chance of ever returning.
good idea. the more voluntary compliance the better.
and this will save a ton of taxpayer $$ too. not only the $16000+ saved versus the cost of arresting them...but all the welfare and free medical and free education and free groceries and free everything else

Bingo. $1,000 one-time payment to get rid of them versus paying them $1,000,000 to stay here for years. It's a no-brainer.
Offer it then arrest the people that come to get it.

Yeah, this should be a real disincentive for Mexicans to stay out.
That's about the population of cities like Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, St Paul, Lincoln NE, Madison WI... that's massive, and literally election-changing, as well as census-changing (assuming that the Dems won't cheat AGAIN on census apportionment).
(And WHY the HELL hasn't the GOP demanded an immediate reapportionment now that the Dems obviously cheating ("miscounting") of House Representatives has been exposed?)
