Authorities released information about the man accused of stabbing an Edmond police officer Thursday during a traffic stop.
At 4:30 p.m., an Edmond police officer was conducting a traffic stop near 15th Street and Broadway when a man approached and pepper-sprayed the officer. That led to an altercation, during which police said the officer was stabbed at least twice.
Backup officers arrived, deployed their stun guns on the suspect and took him into custody. Edmond police also said a good Samaritan rendered aid to the officer before help could get there.
"We saw a cop fall, and then we came back and turned around and saw the whole thing," said Jackson Etheridge, who witnessed the officer being stabbed by the suspect.
The officer was taken to OU Health Medical Center, where he was admitted in stable condition. The Edmond Police Department has not released the officer's name.
On Friday, police identified the suspect as 22-year-old Ocean Hudson. He was arrested on complaints of assault and battery on a police officer, aggravated assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, and obstruction of an officer.

Stun guns?!
What about attempted murder?
It was a "mostly peaceful" stabbing.
Might need to change the 21 foot rule to 31 feet. At 30 feet shoot the SOB. Then holler Stop!
a mostly peaceful stabbing with a safety knife no doubt. pretty sure the liberals will claim the use of a stun gun was overreacting to a peaceful situation.
They can "claim" anything they want. But their stupidity does not, and will not, fly in Oklahoma. The tub of lard will be lucky to make it to his arraignment date.
