California Democrats are pushing legislation to require background checks for gun barrel purchases, effectively taking the “ghost gun” regulatory push to its logical conclusion.

The bill, Senate Bill 704, is sponsored by state Sen. Jesse Arreguín (D).

SB 704 singles out firearm barrels among the many other parts of firearm, requiring a background check for any replacement barrel or aftermarket barrel upgrade purchase. […]

Moreover, SB 704 specifically outlines how the costs of performing background checks for barrels must be handled, making clear that the legislation literally creates “a new crime,” albeit a misdemeanor, in the state California. …

Drive to Las Vegas or Reno on gun show weekend, purchase barrel cash. Done.

Glad I don’t live there.

Oh noes!! Not the barrel loophole. I could kill my neighbor with my gun I would never do that and then change barrels and I'm good to go. Melt the old barrel and I'm home free.

How about drinking straws? They could be repurposed, you know, by those wily conservatives.

“Jesse Arreguín”

Got that folks?

A guy from a country that we’ve had two wars with wants to strip you of your guns.

Wonder why.

Even bigger wonder is, why is this guy making laws for us?

Everyone involved with that bill needs to be sent to England in a crate out of Boston Harbor with explicit instructions that they are never to return to the Western Hemisphere.

Let them be a Tory in England.

If California and most democrats had their way, they would be demanding that all Americans register their hands as potential deadly weapons, especially if those hands can be used to make a gun-like gesture with their index finger and hand. The 'hand-gun' could even be taken from people if they made the hand-gun gesture.

"Gun hand gesture," or "finger gun" gestures will be banned in a future democrat presidency.

They won’t take ALL your guns, just the barrels.

A gun doesn’t decide to load itself, aim, and fire at someone.

I’ll check the backyard but I’m sure my saws, hammers, and other tools haven’t conspired to build me a shed.

It’s possible I suppose that my refrigerator, stove, and other kitchen appliances are plotting a steak dinner for me right now. Maybe if I yell ‘medium rare’ they’ll be inspired.

We have musical instruments in this house. If I were to causally mention that it’s been a while since I saw a live band… maybe they’ll get together and jam while I’m eating my steak dinner and looking out the window at my new shed?

To the point, so-called gun violence is not a gun problem, it’s a people problem.

“This is my rifle and this is my gun,
this is for shooting and this is for fun”.

Wonder which one the democrats will try to legislate out of existence.

I will give you a guess, but before you do so, consider why they are hell-bent on pushing trannys on us.

In the age of AI, democrats would disagree with you.

This is because these morons require(d)? for each gun sold here, Spent casings and bullets be sent to the State for them to keep in a data base.

they believe the rifling on the barrel is some sort of finger print, and changing the barrel means they don’t have that information anymore.

I assume since Democrats believe it, its witchcraft BS nonsense, but perhaps someone with more knowledge then I can chime in here.

Well, he was apparently born in Fresno, but I can’t find any info about his parents beyond their being “farmworkers”. He describes himself as an “unapologetic progressive”, too.

His heart isn’t with his state of (alleged) birth; he was (apparently at age 9) behind the change of name of Army Street in San Francisco to Cesar Chávez Street.

What about triple wall seamless steel pipe? or a slam fire shotgun as shown in the movie “American Guerrilla in the Philippines”(1950)
