Good Stuff – British Officials Worry President Trump Tariffs are Being Leveraged to Support Free Speech
The Conservative Treehouse - The Last Refuge ^ | April 25, 2025 | Sundance

An interesting report from the U.K reflects British government officials who feel their legal position against ‘free speech’ in Great Britain is now part of the negotiations for President Trump’s tariffs.  Essentially, the tariff discussion is encompassing more than just tariffs; if the nation does not support traditional freedoms and liberty, they could face stronger tariffs from the USA.

The messenger for this dynamic is not coincidentally Vice President JD Vance, who aligns closely with the tech platforms.  The tech control agents are bitterly opposed to President Trump’s tariff position, and this nuance is quite possibly a way to give the tech platforms an ancillary benefit, vis-a-vis free speech support.

The tech industry is facing pressure from the EU and British government to censor and control information content on their platforms.  By adding the importance of free speech to the leverage of tariff pressure, President Trump gives both Main Street companies and American Tech Titans something important to their business interests.  This is both a smart and righteous approach.

(Via The UK Independent) Sir Keir Starmer must embrace Donald Trump’s agenda by repealing hate speech laws in order to get a trade deal over the line, a Washington source has told The Independent.

The warning came after the US vice-president suggested a UK-US agreement may be close, with the White House “working very hard” on it.

He told UnHerd: “I think there’s a good chance that, yes, we’ll come to a great agreement that’s in the best interest of both countries.”

But a senior Washington figure, who has provided advice for the administration, claimed he is “obsessed by the fall of Western civilisation” – including his view that free speech is being eroded in Britain – and that he will demand the Labour government rolls back laws against hateful comments, including abuse targeting LGBT+ groups or other minorities, as a condition of any deal.

The Independent was told: “The vice-president expressing optimism [on a trade deal] is a way of putting further pressure on the UK over free speech. If a deal does not go through, it makes Labour look bad.” (read more)

Countries in the EU, England, Ukraine are the largest threat to the U.S. and Liberty itself.

I hope state is looking closely at the treatment of US citizens in UK. I think UK officials, police had better avoid applying the same type of censorship to US CITIZEN visitors that they apply to their own UK crown SUBJECTS.

They should have someone take a horn and every time the prime begins to say something, then blow it. If he keeps it up toss him in jail for an hour. Ask him how he likes it.

My father was so unreasonable. He demanded that before I can inherit his billions I have to give up illegal drugs and clapped out whores.

Well when they issued huge fines for Meta and X because of what people said on them, they kinda made it that way. I doubt Trump will allow the UK or the EU to fine all the profits out of an American company.

From three weeks ago...

https://www.thetimes.com/us/news-today/article/trump-state-visit-uk-scotland-3tn0jk3pk

The UK wants to host him Scotland with Balmoral as the sweetener.

Not because the UK’s Deep State loves our presence, but because it would keep Trump away from the public and the press.

Reportedly, Trump’s not having that. Prefers Windsor, which is lot more accessible to the public and the media.

Free Speech is part of the “American Way, with Truth and Justice”. Is in our DNA. WE think its God given—an idea we got from you Brits from John Locke. Those who do not bow at the altar of Freedom are classed with Barbarians like those in Darkest Africa, Russia, backward states that are not worth trading with.

They heavily tax all goods entering their countries to protect their dying industry, heavily Marxist and Socialist mindset. Since they are a minor exporter we as a nation should be working more closely with Asia.

We are the only nation on the planet with a formal constitution that protects the citizenry from its government.

Note to the UK’s citizenry: If you manage to take your country back from your Deep State, you need one of the above ASAP.

Feel free to crib ours.

Nazi enablers are worried about free speech? The Brits have thought-police Muslim police state in London, and the King converted to Islam.

Meanwhile, the Brits are in shock today as the US and Russia discuss matters that include Ukraine in Moscow. The Brits and Ukrainians had deluded themselves into believing that Trump was warming to EU proposals on Ukraine and that they had patched up things for Zelinski since his February Oval Office meltdown. However, less than 24 hours ago they were jolted into the new reality that Trump is prepared to abandon Ukraine, and not support the EU in their quest to draw the US into the war.

It is a sobering realization for Zelinski, Starmer and Macron that their position was built on shifting sands. They now understand that Trump has no intension of keeping NATO afloat either. SecState Rubio told the EU countries one and all that they will pay 2% by 1 Jun 25 and 5% before next year if the NATO alliance is to be continued.

The Pentagon was further brought under Trump Admin control today with firings and ending of think tanks; Susan Rice and many former Obama officials are saddened.

Cleaning out the Pentagon makes it easier for Trump to bring troops home from Germany and England.

Macron’s boots on the ground and Starmer’s waffling has also been noticed less than a week after both countries actually lost a host of soldiers on the ground in Ukraine in three separate incidents claiming many of Macron’s personal friends and Brit officers. Now both countries are probably not going to send their soldiers to die for Zelinski.

Zelinski has miscalculated. By the time 1 May rolls around and the US walks away from Ukraine, the Ukrainian people will probably not understand for another few weeks given the propoganda. Once they realize Zelinski wants war with US help and that their dictator pissed off the Americans, they will begin to flee Ukraine by the thousands. They know that the gloves will now come off by Russia in a bid to end the war as violently as possible.

These EUroweenies miscalculated and they thought they still owned Trump. They will have to kill Trump to reverse the US-Russian reapproachment.
