Have India and Pakistan ever been close to nuclear conflict in the time since both have publicly acknowledged having these weapons?
To: yesthatjallen
Two neighboring nuclear powers with nearly a century of mutual hate fighting each other again and we have a ‘why it matters’? When it comes to history,’bad blood’ and world-changing possible outcomes, Russia/Ukraine has nothing compared to India/Pakistan.

It sure would have been nice if George W. Bush had taken away Pakistan’s nukes in October 2001, instead of bending over for Musharraf, without even the benefit of a reach-around.
