Elon Musk’s Tesla suffered a massive 71 percent drop in profits for the first quarter, but the company’s shares reacted positively on Wednesday morning after Musk pledged to decrease his time spent working with the federal government on DOGE, but not halt his involvement entirely. Musk also continued his criticism of Donald Trump’s tariffs on China during his earnings call with analysts.
CNBC reports that Tesla, the electric vehicle giant, has reported a staggering 71 percent year-over-year plunge in net income, accompanied by a 20 percent drop in revenue from car sales, according to its latest quarterly earnings report. The company’s deliveries in the first quarter of 2025 were down 13 percent from the previous year, marking the most significant quarterly decline in sales in Tesla’s history. This contrasts with the overall electric vehicle market, which saw a seven percent increase during the same period. Despite the dismal numbers, shares of Tesla have jumped almost eight percent in morning trading today.

Elon should buy shares now that the price is low.
I used the dip yesterday to buy more $TSLA. Look, in 5-10 years EV cars will be Tesla’s side-hustle. Their future is in robotics and AI-automated hardware. I’m buying on the potential for this company.
The left is winning.
Their tantrums, their destruction of property, their assaults on innocent people, their entire bolshevik theater is paying off big time.
Even SCOTUS caved to their histrionics, by demanding the return to the US of the MS-13 terrorist.
Meanwhile, no arrests, no indictments, little to no action whatsoever from Bondi and Patel.
This is not looking good.
Musk is obsessed with going to Mars
Suspect the space program ( commercial applications and pushing boundaries of exploration will be a major focus! And how about self-driving cars? A boon to many!
He’s got his genius DOGE IT teams in place crawling through the govt data bases to find malfunction and corruption, he does not need personal daily oversight
100% me too.
I guess their violence and hate worked. Sad.
Their hate, assaults, violence, etc. is starting to pay off for them big time!
Tell the lefty that Elon is only leaving because as a temporary Federal employee, he can only work until May 1, 2025. He’s leaving because of that, and not because of the left’s immature childish “protests”, i.e. temper tantrums over legitimate gov’t policies.
Good point but they will care less
WTF ever
Amazon didn’t’ make money for years
WTF ever
Amazon didn’t’ make money for years
Yep, lately it’s been hard to find much winning.
Until we get batteries that will do the job, safely, and an electrical grid that can stand the load of charging, EV’s are shit!
Just another Democrat/environmentalist wet dream.
Everything in your post is wrong.
The left is not winning anything.
I bought a few Tesla shares about 3 weeks ago too.
Regardless of how you feel about politics, Elon has both helped and sabotaged his own businesses. X.com is catered toward the right - Tesla was catered toward the left. His involvement in the government has probably helped him with Space-X (it’s rumored he has secured the FAA contract - taking it away from Verizon).
Once Elon appeared on the national stage with a chainsaw, going after the left and government employees, he sabotaged his Tesla business. “Republicans buy sneakers too,” is a Michael Jordan quote that all business owners should remember. Of course, Elon is free to involve himself in politics, but he cannot expect to remain untouched by his involvement. Everything comes at a cost.
Musk should track down the organizer(s) of the anti-Tesla terrorism and sue for $ trillions.
Now is a bargain time to buy Tesla. People miss that Tesla is not just a car company. Cars represent one product line. Tesla is also a solar energy and AI and robotics company.
They still sold more EVs in the US than every other company combined.
