A major meeting in London aimed at bringing about an end to Russia’s war in Ukraine has been downgraded after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said he would skip the summit, escalating a clash between Washington and Kyiv over the future of Russian-occupied territory.

Rubio had been expected to take part in the discussions with Ukrainian, UK and European officials, but State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said Tuesday that he would no longer attend due to “logistical issues.”

London’s Foreign Office then confirmed on Wednesday that the meeting would take place at a lower level. “Official level talks will continue but these are closed to media,” the department said in a message to journalists.

FTA: "US Vice President JD Vance threatened to abandon negotiations on Wednesday, telling reporters during a visit to India: “We’ve issued a very explicit proposal to both the Russians and Ukrainians, and it’s time for them to either say yes or for the US to walk away from this process. We’ve engaged in an extraordinary amount of diplomacy, of on the ground work.”

” but State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said Tuesday that he would no longer attend due to “logistical issues.”

The logistical issue being they are pledging money and weapons and troops while Trump is trying to negotiate peace.

If the Ukes wont accept realpolitik on a very permanent basis…then I guess we’ll have to let the Russians to continue to pound them into the dirt as they take more territory than this agreement would have settled …and of course let the Europeans and neocons keep cheering on Russian losses ( at about 1/6 the rate)

Crimea is Russia
Donbas is Russia
There is some possibility of dividing Kherson and Zaporozhye ( with the NPP under US or international control)…unless the Russian line just keeps pushing West

That is realization ….. not advocacy

It is somewhat important for people to understand that the change in US position on this entire affair derives from two things — and one of them is NOT that Trump is now president.

1) Tulsi Gabbard is now DNI. Her briefings of what the satellites see are now untethered to any narrative. The battlefield is no longer reported by Ukraine sources. It is reported by in-orbit sources.

2) $37 Trillion in debt. The president is now getting daily updates on the state of the attempt at a Reconciliation bill in the Senate, and odds on that do not look good. It is now completely clear there is not a single penny available for anything else than purely US spending. Foreign aid of ALL sorts is being erased. We Can’t Afford It.

It looks like the three men, President Trump, Vance and Rubio are all coordinated and working from the same page.
That’s good. A united front.

Ukie’s will be in the same situation 30 hours, 30 days or 30 months,
as they are now, except Ruzzia will take more territory and tens of thousands
more deaths on both sides.
No matter how much money EU Countries send them.

You might have thought that Russia would win WWI after the Brusilov offensive in 1916, but you would have failed to anticipate Russia's collapse in 1917. Obviously, you haven't studied Russian history.

You mean, like the history where they surrendered millions of Russian speaking ethnics to a nation of 18 million Russophobic banderites looking for NATO membership?

Polish foreign minister denounces Russian aggression: ‘Don’t you have enough land?’ April 23, 2025

Poland’s foreign minister on Wednesday used an annual address to parliament to send a sharp message to Russian leaders as war continues in neighboring Ukraine, asking: “Don’t you have enough land?”

Poland, on NATO’s eastern flank, is one of Kyiv’s strongest supporters, and Sikorski used his speech to strongly criticize Russia.

He said, addressing Russian leaders: “Don’t you have enough land? Eleven time zones and still not enough? Take care of better governing what is within your borders according to international law.”

Having signed previous treaties with Putin which he violated, Ukraine wants a security guarantee avoiding future Russian invasions, ie NATO or peacekeeping western troops, both of which are opposed by Putin.
