The FAA is investigating after an engine fire resulted in passengers on a Delta Air Lines flight evacuating down emergency slides onto the tarmac at Orlando International Airport this morning
The completely full Airbus A330 plane had just departed its gate to fly to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport when a fire was reported in one of the two engines, according to statements from the Federal Aviation Administration and Delta Air Lines

Nice how the fire truck arrives on the opposite side of the fire and is blocked by evacuating passengers.
“I went to Disneyland and all I got was this charred t-shirt.”
Good grief....good job the fire wasn’t out of control, the speed of those passengers coming out is not inspiring!
AVIATION PING!..............
How would you like to be a passenger on the plane that was taxying by at the point of flare up?

I wonder how long it takes the emergency ramp to get fully set up
Delta loves DEI, even with their mechanics.
Or the idiots to grab all their bags before getting out
Was this another one of those “unmanned” Delta flights?
It looks like the pilot used the fire suppression system to put the fire out.
A daily occurrence. If it wasn’t so serious, it’d be funny.
That wasn't a problem in San Francisco a few years ago - the fire truck just ran over the people in the way.

Have not been able to find who is the engine manufacturer for this particular plane.
That event did come mind.
It is powered by Pratt&Whitney. Delta flies A330’s powered by P&W, GE and Rolls Royce. The original Northwest Airlines 330’s, that Delta acquired, are all powered by P&W engines. The 330-300’s that Delta purchased from Airbus are powered by General Electric engines. The 330-900’s, also called NEO’s, are powered by Rolls Royce engines.
This started as a tailpipe fire. There is no fire suppression for the tailpipe. The fire suppression is for the outside of the engine, beneath the cowlings. It is used for extinguishing an external fire.
