US President Donald Trump and his administration are studying whether dismissing independent Federal Reserve chief Jerome Powell is an option, his top White House economic aide said.
"The president and his team will continue to study that matter," National Economic Council director Kevin Hassett told reporters when asked if firing Powell was a possibility, one day after Trump lashed out at the Fed chief.

Whoever chairs the Fed should take actions favorable to our economy. Powell needs to be gone.
Being just fired is worthless once Trump leaves office. Hell just get hired right back. But if he is in prison, well then he won’t come right back...

I do not believe that Pres. Trump will work that hard to correct the Federal system and then hand it back to the Congress and say “Here it is Fellas don’t be afraid to print Fiat Currency again so you can skim off money for yourselves.

He should be fired for cause. The Fed Chairman trashing the US economy and the administration publicly. His job isn’t to give his opinion on tariffs and administration policy. He’s an economic moron as well. He’s like the male Yellen.

what are you missing? you seem to have missed the most recent inflation numbers. March cpi declined by 0.1% in March when it was estimated to rise.

Powell has two mandates. Low unemployment, low inflation. He has low unemployment but inflation is above target and rising. Lowering rates would make inflation rise more.
What is Powell doing wrong?

Lowering rates while inflation is rising is crazy. His job is to keep inflation low and it’s already above target.
