Secret plans for Trump's 'Golden Dome' missile shield revealed
UK Daily Mail ^ | 04/17/2025 | JOE HUTCHISON

Elon Musk has emerged as a frontrunner in President Donald Trump's plans to build a 'Golden Dome' missile defense shield.

Musk's SpaceX company is partnering with software maker Palantir and drone builder Anduril to build key parts of Golden Dome, six sources told Reuters.

All three of the companies were founded by entrepreneurs who have been supporters of Trump, with Musk also serving as a special adviser to the president as the chief of DOGE.

The Pentagon has reacted positively to SpaceX being involved in the project, which would build and launch hundreds of satellites around the globe to sense missiles and track their movements.

Another fleet of around 200 attack satellites armed with missiles or lasers would then bring enemy missiles down, according to sources.

The decision process is still in its early days however, and who is selected to work on certain elements could change.

Defense Department officials will soon brief the president on three options for him to choose from, according to NBC News.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and others will show him three plans in what has been referred to as 'Goldilocks options', small, medium and large, with each option coming with its own timeline and price tag, the outlet reported.

The three companies met with top officials in the Trump administration and the Pentagon recently to pitch their ideas.

One of the sources familiar with the talks described them as 'a departure from the usual acquisition process'.

'There's an attitude that the national security and defense community has to be sensitive and deferential to Elon Musk because of his role in the government', they said.

SpaceX has proposed that they set up Golden Dome as a 'subscription service', in which the government would pay for access to the tech, rather than own the whole system.

I’m glad they are discussing the details of this in public. Maybe they should release all of the schematics and detailed plan options so we can have a vote on which option to choose.

Democracy for the win.

There is nothing "secret" about this.

The LSM loves using the word "secret" but in the sense the are like two gossips sharing information, not actual classified materials.

I was kind of laughing at the use of the word “secret” here.

We need “real” missile defense.

We should have had that years ago.

This is an issue where because we haven’t had a catastrophe, moron politicians aren’t pushing it. This is an issue outside the public consciousness (no stupid Hollywood movie yet to educated the masses).

But if something were to happen, and it’s possible, all of them would throw themselves before a camera and dispense their great advise.

Sorry for the cliche: it is “reckless and irresponsible” not to have a capable missile defense system covering CONUS.

We literally spend billions on worthless, meaningless, programs that have no economic benefit to the American, threats that are imaginary (global warming), hundreds of billions on wars we cause and are needless, but ignore missile defense which is an existential threat. Insane!!!

Just what we need for our critical military infrastructure: a SaaS subscription.

What could go wrong?

Trump would do well to let a few cities be wiped out.... the DNC insanity is worth the pain and suffering for the good of those remaining.

Any city that is an Illegal Alien haven.

Any city prosecuting or involved with that of Trump.

Any city that put forces both pedifiles and homosexuals into bathrooms hlthus harming women and children.

Well said. I am not sure what we currently have in this regard. One would think all of this including future plans would be kept ‘secret’ but apparently not.

Even weirder, I think he pays other professionals to stroke them for him.
Oh well, the future will probably be more interesting with a score of mini-mes.

The wild claim of the U.S. having some controlling powers over space and time, it doesn’t matter how fast an incoming missile is if space or time becomes intentionally distorted in the missiles trajectory path.
