Brice Oligui Nguema, the leader of Gabon’s transitional government and the military figure who led the 2023 coup, has claimed a decisive victory in the country’s presidential election, securing 90.35% of the vote, according to provisional results released by the Ministry of the Interior on Sunday.

Hi-hum. A 90% vote is par for the course for successful coup leaders.
He is demonstrating his moderation by keeping it this low.
Meanwhile, in related news, U.S. Democrats are pointing the Gabon’s election results as an example of “what democracy looks like.” Even New York and California clearly still have a way to go, but they’re hustling to catch up.
