The Social Security Administration this week entered the names and Social Security numbers of more than 6,000 mostly Latino immigrants into a database it uses to track dead people, effectively erasing their ability to receive benefits or work legally in the United States, according to four people familiar with the situation and records obtained by The Washington Post…
Among the people being targeted are immigrants who have bona fide Social Security numbers but have lost their legal status in the U.S., such as those who entered under one of the Biden administration’s temporary work programs that have since ended.
The White House official — who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the new program — said those who were moved into the Social Security database this week all have ties to terrorist activity or criminal records. The official did not provide evidence of the alleged crimes or terrorist ties but said some are included on the FBI’s terror watch list.
The immigrants’ names were placed in the database following two memorandums of agreement signed Monday by Noem and Leland Dudek, the acting Social Security commissioner, according to the people familiar with the situation. The memos authorize Social Security to place the immigrants in the death file for national security reasons and under the Social Security Act, one official said. Some details about the program were first reported Thursday afternoon by the New York Times. But some current and former Social Security officials questioned the legality of the practice, saying that adding names of people that the agency knows have not died to the death database violates privacy laws that no longer apply when someone has actually died. Like others interviewed for this article, the current and former officials spoke on the condition of anonymity …

That database might be accessed by credit bureaus which could affect credit.
Yes but this trip is millions of miles and I want to see the end in my lifetime...
If you can’t deport ‘em, dead ‘em.
Wait until this new illegal registration gets rolling and those names go into the SSAN computers!
Incoming!
While you complain, those you previously supported either were in on this epic con-job, looting the taxpayers of many billions, or had no clue what was happening under their noses.
Curse you, auto-correct! You had one job!
Unsaid in this piece is the very real possibility the Social Security numbers listed as belonging to dead persons are ACTUALLY numbers of deceased Americans being fraudulently used by illegal immigrants.
Typical government bs. mark them dead instead of accurately listing them as: “illegally obtaining benefits” , etc. This is why you have databases in the government with people 200 years old. Quick fix bs. not the way to keep your records with any semblance of integrity. So DOGE II finds these so called dead people who aren’t dead.
And now the dead database has lost it’s integrity because it’s list live people who ?? did what? got a SSN ? and then did what?? This is why government should never ever do anything with a computer. Talk about third or fourth normal form in DB design. These people just trash the whole DB by putting crap in it.
And now the terror list is corrupt because the people you just added are listed as dead. great job.
“... bona fide Social Security numbers...”
OK
Yes, that certainly is something to consider.
But do they get to keep their red stapler?
So are everybody’s Dem voting associates okay with this?
They hate DOGE.
