The Ukrainian military has captured two Chinese citizens fighting in the Russian army, according to President Volodymyr Zelensky, who said the Kremlin's ranks probably contain many more soldiers from the Asian nation.
The pair of Chinese fighters were detained in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, which borders Russia. Documents, bank cards and personal information were on them when captured, he said.
"We have information indicating that there are significantly more Chinese citizens within the occupier's units than just these two," Zelensky said Tuesday on social media. "We are currently working to verify all the facts."
Accompanying the post was a short video clip of one of the purported Chinese fighters, seen seemingly re-enacting an unspecified battle.
Our military has captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting as part of the Russian army. This happened on Ukrainian territory-in the Donetsk region. Identification documents, bank cards, and personal data were found in their possession.
Foreign Affairs Minister Andrii Sybiha of Ukraine said Tuesday he has summoned China's charge d'affaires in Ukraine to "condemn this fact and demand an explanation."
"Chinese citizens fighting as part of Russia's invasion army in Ukraine puts into question China's declared stance for peace and undermines Beijing's credibility as a responsible permanent member of the U.N. Security Council," he said on X.

Ukraine appears to have PO’d the Chinese government with is accusation that these are “Chinese” Soldiers rather than Mercenaries.
China has taken great pains to both support Ukraine and not directly attack Russia at the same time.
China is no longer giving any support to Zelinski or his government.
Zelinski has PO’d everyone except the French, German and British who are slowly coming to the relization that they cannot replace the US with military or intelligence for Ukraine.
Trump has make all the attempts he is going to make for ceasefires... to save Western investments which are overleveraged in Ukraine. A freeze in the conflict is not going to happen but Trump put on his best face and made a great to-do about ceasefires.
Trump is “banking” on the fact that those who both hammered him politically and personally are the same governments in collusion with Biden that are heavily invested in Ukraine. Trump knows that when these assets are under Russian management that French and British Banking will get a double-whammy of asset write-off and recession - which will result in the globalists being voted out in Europe. The EU countries have systems where you must literally win a series of elections overr 6-10 years to fully displace those currently in power. Just as the DNC is being defunded by Doge, Ukraine will defund the hostile politicans in Europe.
Zelinski will have no friends by June. The Biden 60B in arms will have run out. Trump has done nothing to stop the flow of arms to Ukraine under the Biden authorizations, but Trump has ended cold-turkey any future authorizations.
Zelinski and Ukraine are the most un-gracious of countries. Zelinski could not simply thank the American people and had to continue his Biden Affiliation hatred of Trump which for the past 8 years has manifested in Trump turning the tables on those who illegally attempted to destroy him.
Zelinski has a bigger problem today, than just merc’s from China. He has an assisan who his govt and the FBI failed to stop or notify Trump of the threat; Zelinski is now implicated in two possible assination attempts with people involved being active with Ukrainians before the attempts.
Seems to me that Zelinski has attempted to kill Trump and Trump seems to know it and thus Ukraine is going to have get rid of Zelinski or die in the Russian crosshairs.
Ukraine is the great cleansing agent for Trump. Every kilometer lost hurts the Starmer and Macron Governments who have actively worked against him since 2016. Ukraine defeat also destroys the Neo/NATO-Cons.

And then again, maybe these Asian soldiers don't even exist. Nobody really knows for sure. Zelensky would say and do anything to get money in his pocket from saps around the world.
They sure look North Korean.
Don’t they have Ukrainians who understand the difference between the Chinese and Russian languages? For that matter, aren’t there any Ukrainians in their government who speak Chinese?
If the Africans have Chinese speakers, surely Ukrainians have too.
