Reagan Era Economist Art Laffer Praises Trump Tariff Plan: ‘A Win-Win Strategy’ (VIDEO)

Reagan-era economist Art Laffer recently appeared on the FOX Business Network and praised Trump’s tariff plan. Laffer broke it down, even including what he sees as the apparent exit plan, describing it as a ‘win-win strategy.’

Laffer’s view is quite a change from the hair-on-fire approach to this topic embraced by the vast majority of the media. He even suggests that this will be better for other countries in the long run.

Of course, the biggest beneficiary will be the United States.

From the FOX Business Network:

Economist says Trump’s tariffs are a ‘win-win strategy’ to negotiate trade deals

Former Reagan economic advisor Art Laffer said Tuesday on “Varney & Co” that both the world and U.S. would see benefit from President Donald Trump’s tariffs and the trade negotiations that arise out of them…

“The win-win strategy is Trump is just phenomenal at negotiating,” Laffer said Tuesday, adding that he agreed with President Donald Trump that foreign countries getting hit with the president’s latest levies “have far higher tariffs and non-tariff barriers and quotas than we do.”

“But what he’s done now is he’s gotten them in a position where they’re going to lose their access to the U.S. market if they don’t redress these types of inequities that they’ve done,” the former Reagan economic advisor continued. “And Trump is a master negotiator, and I’m watching these people calling into Trump — this is exactly what he does beautifully and wonderfully — and I believe he can negotiate freer trade deals, get those tariffs way, way down, much lower than they are now, by primarily those people lowering their tariffs and us keeping ours low or even going lower, and it’ll be a win, win.”

Democrats and even some RINOs continue to shriek about this but of course, offer no alternative solutions. Trump is doing exactly what he promised in the campaign. He is putting America first.

We do remember the “Laffer Curve” on a napkin.

This was long before the USA had much knowledge of government taxes.

I voted for Bob Dole in the ‘96 general (though not the primary), and I respect his service to the country in WW2... but oh dear... Dole, along with McCain and Romney, formed a triumvirate of GOP “designated losers”... pathetically bad candidates who got the GOP nomination because it was “their turn” and were content to be the Washington Generals to the Dems’ Globetrotters. The Bushes, for all of their faults as being the deepest of the deep-state, new-world-order Bonesmen, were at least in it to win it.

My former FB frenemy latched onto “trickle down economics” like a pitbull on a soup bone. He seemed to think it was the only thing going on in the Reagan economy, and he’d been told it was awful, so he repeated it...often. I hope a Laffer endorsement of DJT’s tariffs inflames his TDS to unbearable levels.
