More than 100 educators at Wellesley College are striking, causing credit confusion for students while the college is calling on the union to sit down with a mediator.
The union voted to authorize their strike to begin on March 27 after nearly a year of failed bargaining. Now, it says the administration has been “surface bargaining.”
Non-tenure track faculty at the small liberal arts college initially voted to unionize as the Wellesley Organized Academic Workers, or WOAW with the United Auto Workers, in January of last year.
Annie Brubaker, a senior lecturer at Wellesley and a member of the WOAW organizing committee, said the union is bargaining for job security, increased compensation, and a four-course workload.
...
When the strike was announced, Brubaker said, the college immediately told students they could be at risk of not receiving full credit for their classes, instructing them to re-enroll in different classes. Credit issues could affect graduation and immigration, Brubaker said.

And in other news ...
And the school will charge the kids for the new classes they have to enroll in.
Then, at the end of the term, they’ll say “Your class was too short, so credit. Enroll in another class for the fall. Oh, and pay a third time!”
It’s nice of these “educators” to care so much for their students. Typical Dems! They don’t Give a Sh!t for people.
Those seem like odd (coughcough) bedfellows to me, but whatever. Time to get some UAW thugs and head-busters to burn a few buildings down at Wellesley to get their attention. They could start with Gender Studies...
Harvard has United Auto Workers-run student and faculty labor unions, too!
That would have been unheard of way back when I was at Harvard!
Publicly supported entities should not be unionized, or allowed to strike.
Let these so-called “educators” at Hillary U. eat CRT.
You can get tenure at a loony, liberal, lesbian factory? Who knew?
That’s a very big faculty for the Track Department.
What about the other sports.
Just get their tenured faculty, who earn the big bucks, to teach more than one class, not seminars, per semester.
I’m sure the adjunct faculty are getting screwed over, so I support the union in this case. Plus, Wellesley, Hellary’s alma mater, deserves this progressive conundrum.
Hahahahaha.....
I hope they are soon fired. There are a lot of barista jobs...and jiffy lube.
The adjunct faculty are there so the tenured don’t have to get their hands dirty.
Fire the adjunct.
And tell the tenured to get their backsides back in the classroom.
PROVING BEYOND A DOUBT THAT “TEACHERS” SHOULD NEVER HAVE A UNION.
