Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer on Monday warned President Trump’s tariffs will destroy New York City’s economy and likely plunge it right into a recession — as he urged the commander in chief to “back off.”
The New York Democrat claimed Trump’s “pinball tariff strategy” could result in a nearly $20 billion direct hit to the Big Apple and threaten hundreds of thousands of jobs.
“President Trump’s pinball tariff strategy will wreak total havoc on New York City and is likely to drive us right into a recession. We’ve crunched the numbers, and what doesn’t look good for the nation, looks far worse for New York City,” Schumer, 74, said.
“Some of the Big Apple’s core sectors are being targeted already, New Yorkers face roughly $20 billion dollars in increased costs, and a staggering 260,000 New York jobs are under threat, unless Donald Trump backs off,” Schumer added.

Just like young Vito Corelone sitting on a bed in a temporary detention center looking at the Statue of Liberty across the bay while waiting to get cleared into this country, NYS officials will watch the economic boom happen on the other side of their state line and wonder why nobody is coming to NYS to build the American Dream.
Likely they will blame Trump.

We all know that NYC is in bad shape, who is at fault for that?
NYC’s finances are in ruins, crime is off the chart, it’s a failed metropolis by any sane metric, Schumer knows it, and his biggest fear is that Trump will fix it.
He’s doing everything he can to drive down the stock market. When he, the squaw and Pelosi see their chance to cash in by buying their dip, they’ll move on to the next way Trump is destroying the woke, pervo world.
This country is just about through with you Chuck and there will be no fond memories of your leadership from anyone.

It’s also important to note that Schumer’s attempt at drama is against a background where DOGE is now looking into the personal finances of Congress.
