For years, Breitbart News has chronicled Stellantis’s outsourcing production to low-wage foreign countries. Last year, for instance, Stellantis
outsourced engineering jobs to Brazil, India, Mexico, and Morocco, where workers make pennies on the U.S. dollar.
The outsourcing scheme came as Stellantis laid off about 400 American engineers.
To all you anti-tariff trolls on FreeRepublic, Tariffs really do work!!
Not tired of winning either!!!

From the article:
General Motors is moving to increase production of light-duty trucks at its Fort Wayne, Indiana, assembly plant, it said in a webcast sent to plant employees on Thursday and viewed by Reuters.
GM’s announcement came a day after President Donald Trump announced 25% tariffs on auto imports.

It can be seen in the “quality” of Stellantis’ products.

They can’t sell the ones they have on the lots now, much less any new ones.
Our local dealer has so may they have to keep them off lot in vacant parking lots around town..............

These companies took taxpayer money in bailouts in the Depression of 2007 and turned around and moved more production outside the United States.

Yup is Rand paying attention or being paid off?
Never thought he was stupid, and agree with him on much, but this one has me shaking my head
What is the most libertarian position but free trade? Trade is not free when US is getting tariffed by the world.
They are not liking the taste of their own medicine.

The smart manufacturers, like Honda and Toyota in particular, manufacture most of their cars for the U.S. market IN the U.S., and will therefore be unaffected by the tariffs. Stellantis took over a weak brand in the form of Chrysler/Dodge, and then proceeded to make its products even worse by outsourcing everything. They deserve to fail.
I used to be a Dodge fan, but had to give up on them because of their poor quality. Rarely could I get one of their cars to make it to 100,000 miles without something major, like the transmission, failing. I’ve bought Acuras/Hondas ever since, and they are nearly bulletproof in comparison.

Stellantis is halting production at two manufacturing plants, one in Canada and another in Mexico, Let's hope they stop making cars everywhere.
They make lousy cars. What they have done to Chrysler and Jeep is criminal.

Stellantis is headquartered in the Netherlands. They shouldn’t even be considered a domestic manufacturer anymore.

Big Deal! At the way their vehicles are selling they have probably two or three years of volume sitting on dealer lots.

“Stellantis Halts Production at Canadian, Mexican Plants After Trump’s Auto Tariffs”
well it’s a start, but the Dodge Charger Daytona EV is a sick joke that essentially has zero sales, and i can’t imagine that the Jeep Wagoneer S EV which has an MSRP that STARTS at $65,000 is gonna be a big seller either ...
looks to me like Stellantis is trying to find new excuses as to why their EV sales suck, you know, pretty much everything except that nobody wants to buy them ...
