Freaking autocorrect. That should have said “they set their messages to disintegrate and be deleted after a set period of time...
It can be a few minutes, hours or days.
But Government should not be using it. It lets them easily avoid all the laws on record keeping.
“The whole point of Signal is that it’s a secure communication system that allows sensitive information to be discussed.”
Probably a whole lot more secure than all the “normal” channels...
I wonder how an aggressive, capable man like Donald Trump even tolerates a dope like this in his inner circle.
—”Signal was approved by the Biden White House when the US govt was hacked.”
The Biden administration allowed some use of Signal — based on public guidance from the U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency — it explicitly did not allow use of Signal to communicate “non-public” Department of Defense information.
yeah we gave him the benefit of the doubt, but this is too much.
Of course it's "sensitive," that's why they're using an encrypted communication platform.
Notice that they didn't say "classified?"
This is more agitprop by the LAAP-dog media who are trying to undermine President Trump's leadership team. They're starting with Waltz since they can't touch Hegseth.
There is nothing wrong with using an encrypted communication platform when people are scattered around the city or on assignments out of town and still need to participate in impromptu discussions.
Remember when Musk said that they are going to be "moving at the speed of business?" This is what that looks like. Nobody has to time to coordinate a meeting in a single secure room when everyone's schedules align. Just call everyone up where they currently are and discuss on encrypted apps.
This should be the new norm, not the new scandal.

Deep Throat rises from grave to plague the Administration.
“sensitive” is not “classified”.
“classified” doesn’t exist as a class.................
“What’s wrong with that?”
I’m not as concerned about Signal as I am the Gmail conversations. Google / Gmail are notoriously are insecure. Actual spying entities.
I've spent some time in DC, and their currency, their wealth and self-image all revolve around being seen, knowing people, appearing in media.
It's much more difficult (but not impossible) to get ahead as someone who is quiet, avoids publicity, and is trustworthy.
its an inherent contradiction in our system of government.
I agree. This has festered far too long.
One might have thought that his first term experience with this issue would have made him ensure that he was bullet-proof in this second term...
The Russkies, for 70 years, had a solution to this kind of problem...
It’s time Trump implements a similar solution!
Previous administrations used Signal, too.
The bass turds doing all this leaking are the civil serpents embedded in the government by Joe Pedo to “resist” and “disrupt” the Trump Administration. Our side needs to learn to do this havoc the next time the Trojan suit wearers take power. Burn everything in the country down like BLM did. The DemonRATS own it all and run it all anyway. Everything is fair game.
Exactly. I get Trump not wanting to give the Dems a scalp, but Waltz needs to go.
The chat group is not set up by SES attendees. There are technical staff in charge of conference centers, presentation equipment and technologies to accomplish the meetings.
IS THIS WALZ???
OR IS HIS STAFF SABOTAGING STUFF???
Trump needs to throw that “signal” crap out. Obviously, it isn’t safe unless it’s being used by DemonRATS who will not be attacked by the journalism retards because it is not secure when Republicans use it.
The mediots seem to be daring DJT to fire Waltz. What if he rehires General Flynn, won’t their heads explode?
Now that the election for his seat is sealed....he maybe headed to that Ambassadorship in Malaysia.
Bad hire....
