‘Bottom Line Is That We Have Lost Control of Our Destiny’
The New York Times ^ | April 1, 2025 | Thomas B. Edsall

Democrats are acutely aware of their political problems.

On Sunday, for example, Senator Michael Bennet of Colorado told Kristen Welker on “Meet the Press”:
The Democratic Party has lost touch with working people in our country, at a time when 50 years of trickle-down economics has meant that most Americans feel like, no matter how hard they work, their kids are not going to live a life better than the life they led.
The Democratic Party brand, Bennet continued,
is really problematic. And I think that it is a brand, with all respect to my colleague from California, that is associated with New York and with California, associated with the educated elites in this country and not anymore with working people in this country.
Bennet was not alone. “The Democratic brand is toxic right now,” Gov. Gavin Newsom of California told Bill Maher on HBO. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut was on “Meet the Press” earlier in March and warned his less active colleagues that “Americans want the Democratic Party to stand up and fight and to take risks.” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez urged the crowd at a rally in Las Vegas, “We need a Democratic Party that fights harder for us.”
Post-election polls provide Democrats with little hope.

A March 22-25 YouGov/Economist survey of 1,600 respondents found that unfavorable views of the Democratic Party by far exceeded favorable views, 55 percent to 36 percent, while voters were less critical of the Republican Party, 48 percent unfavorable versus 44 percent favorable.

A post-election survey for Third Way, a Democratic centrist group, found Donald Trump was favored over Kamala Harris to handle the economy and cost of living and tied...

The Democratic Party has lost touch with working people in our country, at a time when 50 years of trickle-down economics...

And Senator Bennett intends to honor that hallowed tradition with the tired "trickle-down economics" bromide.

Sadly, Colorado is such a leftist state, especially Denver and Boulder.
Being a Democratic senator from Colorado he almost sounded sane. But then you have to remember who votes him in office.

The DNC has not lost branding, they have lost “deceptiving”. They can no longer lie to our faces and expect any but drooling fantrans to lap it up. They have lost the ability to be self absorbed shits while pretending they aren’t.

I was in the Second grade and I figured Democrats out.
My parents were apolitical, but I figured out bullies at that age.

They'll have to include John Doe and Jane Doe from Peoria into the party. But according to Hillary Clinton, we are a "basket of deplorables". Kamala Harris ran the same strategy because she went on Oprah. And then refused to go on Joe Rogan's podcast.

That writer is as delusional as the Democrats about which he is writing. These are quotes from the blurb:

"The Democratic Party brand, Bennet continued, is really problematic. And I think that it is a brand, with all respect to my colleague from California, that is associated with New York and with California, associated with the educated elites in this country and not anymore with working people in this country."

Okay, that at least as the potential to be sane. But then the author writes this:

Bennet was not alone. “The Democratic brand is toxic right now,” Gov. Gavin Newsom of California told Bill Maher on HBO. Senator Chris Murphy of Connecticut was on “Meet the Press” earlier in March and warned his less active colleagues that “Americans want the Democratic Party to stand up and fight and to take risks.” Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez urged the crowd at a rally in Las Vegas, “We need a Democratic Party that fights harder for us.”

How schizophrenic can you get? The writer apparently sees no contradiction between the guy who is complaining about California and NY coastal elites, and then Gavin Newson and AOC.

No wonder the Dems are in such disarray.

They should wish they were still thought of as the party of NY, CA, and the faculty lounge.

Right now they are the party that supports illegal alien criminals, trannies and other sexual deviants, and abortion. That’s it, that’s the whole agenda, that who they are for.

They are against: women, children, and non-criminal men.

Perhaps first the marxist Democrats should apologize for being censorious, totalitarian, racist douchbags.

This is just rhetoric with no intention to improve their behavior or change their goals.

Well, let’s hope that they do not change, and keep asking for the return of illegal gang members that they are convinced is a winning cause to die on.

The Democrats are doing well under the circumstances. They will skim a few House races, keep up the lawfare and crucify Musk at Midterms. The Democrats may even impeach again. Congress is doing nothing to solidify and codify MAGA.

The Democrats have lied for so long that they started believing their own lies.

Their poll numbers aren't dropping - they're where they've always been at> The propaganda media simply lost the ability to keep up the pretense.
