A legal fight over free insurance coverage for HIV-prevention drugs and making a self-insured Christian company "complicit in facilitating homosexual behavior" reaches far beyond its Obamacare context, but ordinary Americans wouldn't know that by reading pro-government friend-of-the-court briefs submitted to the Supreme Court.
Affordable Care Act provisions that force insurers to charge beneficiaries nothing for preventive services on a list determined by a task force – neither appointed by nor answerable to the president – are symbolic of unaccountable bureaucrats throughout the federal government making unconstitutionally unreviewable decisions, newly filed briefs argue.
The high court hears oral argument later this month on whether U.S. Preventive Services Task Force members are "principal" officers under the Appointments Clause and whether their decision-making authority can be legally preserved by judicially empowering the secretary of Health and Human Services to "direct and supervise" their coverage decisions.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals rejected both the constitutionality of the task force, upholding a district court decision, and the severability of a separate statute that "unduly insulate[d]" the task force from the HHS secretary's supervision as a principal officer.

What happened to government staying out of our bedrooms?
They should stay out of bedrooms & our pockets, too.
Uh, straight people can catch HIV.
Bad blood donations and sex with a needle-user who likes to share.
2024 was my turn to use the services for the first time in years. Ampullary cancer. Aetna and Huntsman Cancer Institute took great care of me that year. The billing ran nearly $1 million. It's 2025 now. The annual deductible reset on Jan 1st. My wife is on Medicare instead of my company insurance. To date, I've needed just 1 blood draw in 2025. Shortly, at CT scan to check my saccular aortic aneurysm and also surrounding organs for detection of cancer recurrence.
Obamacare was just another building block in the Democrats’ plans to make this Republic a totalitarian state under their eternal control.
ACA is solely responsible for the continuing increases in health care, the continued decrease in quality of healthcare, and the astronomical increase in the cost of health insurance. We are forced to spend money to pay the costs of items and tests we do not need.
Just as an example, my husband was in the hospital a week or so ago. A few days after returning home, he started getting daily phone calls with a recorded message saying our insurance was paying for meals be delivered to him daily through some “charitable” organization. I assume the organization is funded with our tax dollars through some NGO.
We never returned the calls.
Another thing is medical testing kits we get in the mail that neither we nor our doctor requested. I’m not taking a sample of bodily fluids and sending them to some random company that sends a request. If my doctor thinks I need a test for some reason, he will let me know.
No matter what John McCain did in the past, I’ll forever remember him as the sorry sonabitch that refused to overturn the ACA just for praise from the leftist media celebrating that he “got Trump”.
