Republicans are pulling out all the stops ahead of the special election in Florida’s 6th Congressional District as worries of a narrower-than-expected margin grow in the district President Trump won by more than 30 points in November.
Trump called into two tele-town halls for state Sen. Randy Fine (R) in an effort to drive out the Republican base ahead of Tuesday. Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s America PAC spent roughly $10,200 in the race earlier this week and dropped another $66,000 into the race on Thursday.
The efforts come as Democratic candidate Josh Weil has outraised Fine, while an internal poll from the Republican firm Fabrizio Ward showed Weil holding a 3 point lead over Fine.
Democrats and Republicans continue to maintain that a Republican loss in the district is highly unlikely given its red lean. However, a narrow margin would give Democrats material to claim there is discontent among Republicans in Trump country. As for Republicans, Democrats’ overperformance in the polls and fundraising is too close for comfort as Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) seeks to navigate a razor-thin House margin.
House Republicans control a narrow 218-213 majority, which does not allow Johnson a ton of flexibility to pass a budget reconciliation package that would combine border security, tax legislation, as well as energy and defense spending.
Trump acknowledged his concerns over the small House majority and the leeway Johnson has to pass his agenda on Thursday when he pulled Rep. Elise Stefanik’s (R-N.Y.) nomination to be U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, writing in a Truth Social post that “we don’t want to take any chances.”
Despite the nervousness ahead of Election Day, most Republicans and Democrats maintain that Fine will likely win in the end. The question is by how much.

The money is not grassroots nor is the democrat campaign, same old story, same old lies.
Doe snot mean they won’t cheat it away.
There is discontent, alright.
Consumer prices are still rising and stock portfolios are falling.
It is always “the economy, stupid!”
So the Hill has stumbled onto a big story here. The big news is that the GOP is campaigning.
How dare the GOP not give up. The scandal.
The GOP is not giving up on the seat. As of Saturday, the last day for early voting, the Rs were up 9.2 percent over the Ds in turnout. Usually, R election day turnout is much higher than D, so things would appear, at least, to be positive.
Eggs and gas have both come down, at least in my neck of the woods.
We have to pray the GOP wins. A sick day or two and we could not pass anything if the lead in the House gets narrower.
The old “God must have loved the poor people because he made so many of them”, applied to making dangerously ignorant and evil leftist voters and ballot count cheaters.
(Some attribute the origin to the variant by Abraham Lincoln about “the common people” but no one is sure.)
There was a magazine cartoon of a reporter talking to a general with a lot of ribbons on his uniform.
“General, what is your take on the saying that God must have loved the Chinese Communists because he made so many billions of them?”
Trump hand picked a DUD not from that district and
prevented a local gop Primary .
Why Trump removed a-local Gop guy to his Admin was just stupid and ooen up this dem opportunity .
The Dem is a Radical Muslim and Dems have 9 million
and Trump gave his DUD nothing .
And Trump kept flying over the district to play Golf in Palm Beach while his
DUD struggled and is broke .
Just like all Trumps other former Senate picks where Trump keeps the money .
He may lose .
The midterms look bad since Trump learned from 2018 massacre .
Retail eggs holding steady in southern Pennsylvania and gas just went up 10 cents/gallon on Friday.
Public school teachers will be out in force.
The “Reporter” is trying to set expectations.
Is Randy Fine just not a great candidate? Or, has this district truly slipped, since Nov 2024?
I have no idea, but, it does make one wonder.
I woke up this morning to find 5 get out the vote voice mails reminding me to vote for Randy Fine, which I will be doing Tuesday. This is a pretty conservative district so I’m not too concerned, but obviously there is some concern within some circles.
Typical Dem talking points
Thievery is a lucrative business.
The Democrat Party Organized Crime Syndicate isn’t going to just quietly go away.
Interesting that the Dems are quiet about the candidate’s faith and ideology.
He may not be that great a candidate, but once Trump endorsed him, that was good enough for me to vote for him in the primary. Besides being a bit Establishment, one of the knocks on him is that he’s not really from this district and may have just moved here so he could run for the seat.
Normally I would have probably voted for his primary opponent, who has strong ties to the area, but after Trump’s endorsement, I went with Fine. I figure we just need someone right now who’s going to be a reliable MAGA vote, and what better way to ensure that than electing someone who owes his election to Trump’s endorsement?
The other guy may have been okay, but there’s always the risk of getting someone who wants to be independent. That’s okay in normal times, but not now. All we need is a reliable pro-MAGA vote in that seat, nothing more.
Just found Carville’s burner account
Trump picked this Dud from Melbourne area so local
Goper people are not happy or impressed .
They should allowed a gop primary .
Doing a Kamala Harris no primary is not welcomed .
Fine was not ready .
If you look at a map of Congressional District boundaries in Florida, they look like Edward Scissorhands got drunk before he went to work.
The 6th touches at least five counties.
Building constituencies one issue at a time. And corraling them all together.
It's what Democrats do best.
A special interest group like the public school unionized teachers can flip the vote.
Easily.
As an example, Florida's Hillsborough County alone (not in the 6th Cong. Dist.) is home to 15,160 teachers.
Just one county.
So why was the Administration out to lunch on all of this?
