Army vs Navy –Basketball Edition!

The U.S. Naval Academy Midshipmen men's basketball team “sings second,” a tradition in which each team sings their alma mater in front of fans – the losing team first and the winning team second – following their game against the U.S. Military Academy Black Knights at Alumni Hall on the campus of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. The men's team defeated Army 54-61 in the second game of a doubleheader, while the women fell to Army 68-64. (U.S. Navy photo by Mass Communication Specialist 2nd Class Jacob D. Moore)

SECDEF Hanging with The Troops!!

During their visit, Secretary Hegseth and Deputy Prime Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz met with Soldiers from the 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division. The Soldiers showcased new military equipment recently tested during the Combined Resolve 25-1 exercise, emphasizing the impact of the TiC program. This initiative aims to provide Soldiers with the latest technology, allowing them to experiment and provide valuable feedback for shaping the future force. Photo by 1st Sgt. Jacob Connor)

and entertain our troops and veterans and their families,

Poor kid. It's a great nickname, but to be the real name would make it hard for other kids not to tease her. My middle name is "Lou", and even that created jokes. Little Lulu, for instance. LOL! Oh...and....

Howdy, luvie.

I wasn’t in the kitchen whipping up supper at post time for a change. LOL

I hoped you’d get a little rain from that system over TX right now but nothing’s really moving at all. It’s just sitting in place.

Hey there, radu!

I hope we do, too. They’re saying we have a 70% chance, but we know how THAT goes. Right now it seems to be rotating into our position, but who knows.

Hope your day has been a good one. Did you finally get that mowing done?

What I’m seeing is veeeerrry slight movement to the east and almost no rotation but there are some showers shooting off to the northwest towards you at the moment. Maybe you’ll get one of those.

Been a quiet day here, recuperating from yesterday. LOL No mowing but I did go out to the shop to crank up Champ for a few minutes to get the fluids flowing. I need to get a new air filter and change the oil.
I did load up all the saplings I’d whacked and hauled them to the huge pile in the field behind the house yesterday, though, and I hurt from that. Not so much now after laying low.

Indeed, when I just looked, it seemed that one of the smaller storms was right over our house, but unfortunately, someone forgot to turn on the spigot. LOL!

Good deal to crank up Champ to get him ready for the hard work to come. It won’t be long now. Hubby started watering here. Hasn’t gotten very far, though. Too many errands to run.

Keeping fingers crossed you’ll get something before the night’s over. Too bad east TX can’t huff and puff and blow their rain back your way. They’re drowning.

Yup, gotta take good care of Champ. A lotta territory for that mower to cover. I wish I could have afforded a mower with a larger deck but the next step up was a lot more $$$. Champ wasn’t cheap as it was. Oh well.

Guess we’ll get a good watering this weekend, along with more ugly weather Sunday night. Probably from the monster system off the NW coast right now. That sucker is UG-LEE!

The other daughter’s named ‘Omie’.
No idea; they’re young parents and I’m an old fart.

My fingers have been crossed so tightly, they’re numb. I guess they don’t call it the desert for nothing. *sigh*

I’ll bet you’re darn tired of all the storms y’all have been getting. Just doesn’t seem to let up. But thank goodness, it has given you enough rain to get out of your drought condition.

You should check out the Lake Hood cam. Judd has the cam aimed at Mt. Spurr and it looks like it’s erupting. Yikes! With luck it’s a belch and not the biggie starting that they’re expecting.

Yeah, you can’t expect a whole lot of rain there but it DOES rain in the desert - - or it’s supposed to. You’ve gone a long time without any.

Yes, this will be the third weekend in a row with storms. Last weekend’s storms weren’t too bad here but it was really windy all day. Grateful for the rain but it would be nice to get some without all the ruckus.
